Front Strut Bar - Which is the best?

Well, I am working on the last two projects for my car. Working on new rims and considering adding a front strut bar. However, I am unsure what is the better bar. Most of you know that I am doing a Mugen theme on the car and I would like to do the Mugen strut but it is around $300.00 and is it really worth it? I don't have a problem putting in a different brand just as long as it works well and doesn't cause me any problems. Could you please let me know what brand you like best and is this installation something I could do myself?

Cat :x

as far as strut bars go, they dont really help our cars out at all. Mostly just a look thing IMO. So with that said i would just get anyone know that looks appealing to you.

after driving this car fo a week now, i can say the same as above... i dont think it would benift from a front strut bar but possibly from a sway bar brace for the back end though... problem with those is that most of the time you loose cargo space because the bar goes through it and you would have to cut holes in the plastic walls in the cargo area. Do they even make one for this car??

I had a spoon strut bar. It doesnt look all that nice. I removed it after 2 weeks and got the Js racing. In the time the strut bar was off the car, the car handled a little more sloppily. I think a spoon strut bar painted black would look cool.

Yes, you could feel it was less responsive.

with the DF210's i could tell a difference when i put the CUSCO on,
but im not sure with my current coilover setup as the spring rates are
fairly low and damp rate is setup for comfort.

i dont plan on removing it for the time being though.

The rear bars, shock tower and c pillar help a great deal the front does help if you are running a full setup. Mine are all J's racing.

i like that the spoon strut bar is a solid mount design. 1-piece strut bars are the best. i will be getting a spoon strut bar when the time comes.

Cat, do you have a Progress rear anti sway bar yet? It will make much more of a diffrence as far as handling perfomance. Much more bang for the buck.

Yes swaybars cause a more noticeable difference, but strutbars yes do help as well. There are cheap strut bars out there that because are flimsy DO NOT help, but the well made ones help. Please dont just throw this out there. I have driven a windy road, taken my strut bar off and ran it again and YES you can tell the difference. There will be people that will disagree but i have tried it and you can tell the difference.

So do I. I just put the Cusco bar on mine and it's a lot more settled than before, particularly for longer turns under power. One thing though, if all you're doing is toodling around town at normal speeds you're really not going to see much benefit. It's when you push it hard, like canyons, autox, etc. -- that's where it really comes into its own.
