idk what i should get...

Hello, im new to the site and im about to get my first car... I looked at the fit and the civic lx. I decided it is definitely going to be between those two. Later on i heard about the 2009 honda fit. I HATE the way the 09 fit looks. the nose is huge and it looks nasty. I started wondering if i should still get the 08 fit or go with the civic, since the 09 fit is coming out and my car would depreciate in value. what do you guys think, should i go with the civic or the fit?

The Fit won't necessarily depreciate in value. Remember, it been in the States for only 2 years.

Thats not my main concern, but im scared that the 09 fit will be better and improved so i would be stuck with an older model car...kind of hard to explain...

The '09s are improved, but whether or not it's better is subjective. Do you want all of the changes the '09s have? If not, then get an 08.

It's all up to you and what you want. Here, we're going to suggest the Fit, naturally.

If it helps any, I traded my '06 Civic EX in for an '07 Fit Sport and I'm consistently getting 32+mpg (got an average of 27mpg in the Civic).

I dont think the Fit will depreciate in value, we will have somewhat of a rare car, anyone who wants a 07 or 08 once the 09 comes out will pay top dollar for a mint GD3. Cause like you, many people dont like the way the 09 looks so the demand for 07 08 will still be there i belive.

In the US it sold for two years. Elsewhere, the Fit/Jazz has been on the market since 2001.
