Shocking Fit
Shocking Fit
I’m just about at the 2 week mark with my Fit and I have a problem. Every time I step out of my Fit (and seriously every time) it shocks the living crap out of me. A typical static charge but a little bit stronger then usual. I can remember some of my Hondas doing this in the past but I haven’t had that happen in any cars to me in the past 10 years or so. Its kind of a pain

You're most likely going to have to get used to it, my gf and my brother complain all the time about getting shocked, and I really don't notice it.
My 2000 Dakota I traded on my 2008 BBP Sport had this issue also. It didn't matter how humid, dry, hot or cold it was, every time I got out I would get shocked. Even with gloves on in the winter I would get blasted. I attached one of those hanging grounding straps from an auto parts store to the underside and rarely had the issue again. I hung mine in the middle rather than the back to make it less noticable. With the low profile of the fit, if you put it by the rear suspension, someone would have to get on the ground to see it. Unless you want to decorate it and make it a feature. For under $15 its worth a try.
It is a tire thing.
Easy to solve. When you get out of the car, put your hand on the A pillar to pull yourself up. When you foot hits the ground - electricity discharged.
If that does not work - get your car a ground strap...

PS. I spray my seats with Static Guard from time to time and it lasts for a few days. Only issue is you have to do it on a day when you aren't going to go drive otherwise your interior stinks. So spray it, leave windows down and let it air out a little.

Happens to me in virtually every car I'm in. I usually just make a habit of brushing my shoulder against the door before I close it. That way the shock is dulled by having to go through my shirt. Many times I can barely even feel it.
My Fit shocks me so badly that if my leg comes into contact with the body kit it will leave a white mark! Now that is electric! I found either holding on to the A piller like fluffy bunny said or touch the key to a piece of the metal helps.

I've pretty much formed a habit of sticking my hand out and touching the door panel before I step out of the car to discharge the electricity. Well, more like quickly slapping the car
