help on repairs

So I hit a curb three months ago. I brought my car to Honda and they said the front sway bar, and right control arm needs to be replaced=$670. Now, I can order the parts for $300 from Honda. Does anyone know a good place to have these installed for a cheaper price than Honda? I live in Burbank.

Do the work yourself. You will need a few tools that you don't already have, but the money you save by not paying shop labor will more than pay for the tools. The more difficult part to replace is the front sway bar. Look up the "Battle Endless Front Sway Bar" thread- there are posts there that will give you some help with the R&R techniques. Also, member "mrFroge" (irc) installed one of the BE bars. He might be able to help you with more details if you PM him. If I don't remember correctly, I apologize "Froge".

fit fix

Thanks guys. I just might end up buying an after market sway bar and OEM control arm. I took a gander under the Fit, and man is it compact there.

Perhaps a small privately owned shop could give you a better deal than Honda.

This would also be covered under your insurance. Depending on your deductible, you could possibly save some money.

If you do not have a place to work on it yourself, or the tools to do it independent shop is the best way to go. Even with tools you might have tough time separating lower joint of the lower arm from the knuckle. Second alternative: post an inquiry in Southern Cali section and ask local guys. Maybe one of them has the space and tools to help you out. Isn't that what this forum is all about?

Also, do not buy parts required from the local dealer. Order from Majestic Honda. Shipping ground is dirt cheap and there is not tax for out of state purchases. Sway bar and lower control arm combined are $150 from Majestic! That alone including shipping will save you $100 at least.

How fast were you going to do that damage? I almost dont believe you need all that replaced.
