Bought mine off the lot the same day I walked in there. They had 6 or 7 MT Fits up front and I think 2 ATs in back. The AT Fit I bought still had bits of plastic on the outside and had around 13 miles on it. Go me!

Was looking at the Toyota Matrix at first but stopped at a Honda dealer and saw the Fit. First thought was "What room!" but all they had at the time was hail damaged units. Thought about it for a couple of days and then went to a Honda dealer down the road from where I work. Not only did they have color my wife and I wanted, but their fresh no hail damaged vehicles were LESS than the other place. They gave me what I wanted for my 98 Jeep Wrangler (13mpg highway, but damn I love driving with the top down) and I drove away the next day. The end.

I popped in for a test drive at my local dealer...loved the car, but they wanted to charge for a lot of "take the whole lot it or leave it" extras.

Then got a great deal up country (colour, spec I wanted at a FANTASTIC discount )...did the paperwork over the phone and flew up with my gf for a long weekend with my brother and drove her 1500km home.

I'm waiting right now for mine. Orange or vivid blue sport manual without the stupid dealer add-ons. One dealership had a CRV with over $2k in add-ons. I don't like door edge guards that much...

I'm going to give the two dealers I have "looking" for one another week, then I'll just start calling around to every dealer in DFW.

My third choice is black, and I won't have a problem finding one of those.

I waited 2 months for a VBP Sport AT which never came in. They had a deal that fell through on the MR Sport AT so I was able to get it instead of having to wait one more month for VBP. It did not arrive until mid-June!

While at the dealership last Monday for my one year inspection there were no Fits on the lot - they were totally sold out and unsure when they might be getting any in.

The dealer I bought it from had to get it from a dealership about 200 km away. I gave them six days to do it and they were able to come through.

I bought mine late summer/early fall last year. I first went to Honda to browse and check out the Fits. They had a few but they were either the base model, or had the slushbox (automatic). I decided to wait. Stopped there a couple of days later. New shipment, all sold and no manuals in that shipment. I decided that I wanted a Fit and put down a deposit so that they could locate one for me. Wanted it in the #1 TW #2 SSM #3 BOM in the sport trim. It took them 3 weeks and all the way from Montana to find me a SSM Sport. Picked it up the day it came in and drove away happy.

didn't have to wait, at least not initally. my wife and i were gunning for a fit after we got married, but ended up with a rabbit due to the fact that back in october of 06, the fit was not an easy car to find. but last august, we were able to just walk on the lot and get one, even though they didn't have a great selection, and it was depleted shortly after our purchase.(we lucked out and got a great color tho.)

I was searching dealers for a manual trans sport in VBP or SSM. I'd been searching for several weeks. One day I was on my lunch break and saw a delivery truck pull into the honda dealership. I pulled in right behind it and found an SSM manual sport Fit. I came back after work and test drove it with the shrink wrap still on. I drove there in my WRX, and came back in my brand new Fit.

I called the dealer, he said I had a 30-90 day wait. Called the other dealer north of me, he said no dice. Later the same day, the northern dealer called me and said, I got the Black (not the blue the wife wanted) Manual Sport off the truck today, you want it? So, tomorrow I'm going to get it!

Checked w/ the dealership, they had what I wanted, went that weekend to pick it up. Didn't get a deal though, which irked me... but hey, I'm happy, it's almost paid off, and 1.5A LED tails are going in this weekend, which I'm very excited about!

Bought it and had to wait 3 weeks for it to come in but got exactly what I wanted. I waited 3 month for my custom configured IS350 to come in.

I'm in the waiting game now. Ordered a 2009 Fit Sport with auto/Navi. Probably going to be a 4-5 month wait.

Waited 179 days from ordering till delivery. May till November.

I saw a newspaper write up in May, 2007 - 1st time I'd ever heard of the FIT.

Test drove a red MT that Saturday, went back a week later an ordered a Silver Sport MT.

For much of my waiting time, I didn't really care - since I was recovering from a broken leg and surgery.
