FIT for MSRP? crazy....
They might be trying to clear out the lots for the 09's soon. 09's should be coming out somewhere between now and 6 months from now. Honda will most likely try to get rid of all their 08 cars by August. Good luck and keep an eye out.
As gas prices go up and the demand for economical cars go up. MSRP will become a good deal. Heck when the Fit first launched in the US, some dealers were asking a couple grand over MSRP for a while.
Howdy,
Well, at least in my area, the California central valley, I haven't seen a Fit available for less than MSRP. Actually most places are marking them up significantly; anywhere from $500 to $1500. I stopped by Roseville Honda today and they had a used Fit with an auto and 2000 miles on it. They were asking $20,995 for it! I seriously doubt that they will be able to actually sell it for that much, but it does give you an idea of the price gouging that is going on here.
If you are not picky about color and like any automatic ( seems they are the most available.) you can probably get one at MSRP. At least here, I doubt you'll do much better for now.

yea, i got my fit for msrp when they first came out. that was weird but my dad and i are good at negotiating.
Invoice is only about $1000 less than MSRP. I bough mine for like $150 under msrp (big deal when it comes down to it on a 5 year loan). But you should never pay over msrp. Every car has markup around here on it, every single one. It has to do with a law that if I recall says dealers can’t sell a car for more than its posted price. Just call up some dealers and say "I’ll give you msrp" for one. You might have to wait a few weeks but you should get it.
I would not pay more than MSRP for a car in this class. Way to many cars available to be that picky for a small eco car. Only car I ever paid more then MSRP for was my first S2000 the day it was released in the USA, probably one of the first 10 to be sold in the country. It was worth it at the time because its production was so low that for the first year people when bats nuts when they saw it on the road (hanging out of their car windows screaming bats nuts).
The Fit isn’t that kind of car.

MSRP for a very popular Honda model actually IS a good deal, yes.
If you're expecting to buy a car at invoice or below, head on over to your friendly Ford dealer. They will be happy to put you in a new Focus.
If you want the best car in the segment, then be prepared to pay MSRP, yes. But its worth it.

The 2008 Fit is still a great deal at MSRP. I'd guess you have 2 months to even get a new 2008. If you have not looked at the 2009 and the fact than many details are unknown to anyone
, I'd be rushing to buy that 2008 Fit and prepared to wait for it.

I just ordered a Sport Fit OTD was 17500 incl lifetime powertrain warr. I am still waiting for the car. I went to/called up7 dealers one wanted 17638 OTD. the 17500 was the best deal I got.
peace,
peace,
I guess I'm a bit surprised considering I've owned a '99 M3 and '05 S4 w discount. However, I did pay MSRP for my '98 TypeR.
If only they had the yellow or white one...second choice would be black.
Thanks for your input guys.

i paid invoice, which i found the number by searching and looking up edmunds, which was about 17600 OTD, you can get it at that if you call around and negotiate /w people. Just get quotes from dealers and u can say you got quoted a lower number to some of them to see if you can get a better number.
Go to Jersey
I'm really amazed about Fit demand in other states. When I finally decided I wanted a Fit, i searched dealer inventories nearby and contacted their internet sales department. The nearest dealer offered my a little bit more than invoice over the phone, but when I showed up, the paperwork was for invoice pricing.
And each dealer around here had at least 5 Fits in stock. This was back in early April. Might be different now.
