Fit/Snow
drove in a typical new england winter my MT did well, i had some issues getting rolling in deep snow but once i was on my way i was fine, i even was surprised at how well i could control intentional sliding
with the shitty ziex912's i was able to drive slow around town to
1" of snow. anything more the tires just sucked big time so i took my
LegacyWgn.
i might get snow tires this winter.

I drove my Fit all winter this past year and it handled it fine. The stock all seasons were a limiting factor on ice, however, and they'll be replaced by winter tires this season.
At the end of the day though, I had no problems getting around and as long as you drive sensibly for the conditions, you'll be fine. With our winters, I have to drive in very cold temps, ice, slush and snow (accumulations in the 12-18 inch range are very common) and the Fit got the job done. I wouldn't try to drive through 3 feet of fresh snow (we did get that much overnight one day, LOL) but any "standard" winter conditions shouldn't be an issue, especially with good tires.
I have a Sport with a 5 speed.

On the stock Dunlops I had a difficult time getting going in the wet snow we get down here in lower New England. Once going it was usually fine if you're light on the throttle, even the slightest tap at anything higher than 2500rpm sent my wheels a-spinnin'. I have a set of stock Sport wheels that I'll probably be mounting snow tires on this next winter.
i live on a dirt/gravel road and this past winter i could ice skate down it to get the mail. i bought pirelli winter carving and had them studded on the oem rims. no trouble now and driving around snow it handles like im on dry road. in the summer i roll on 18's
