Fit/Snow

I know we are all thinking about summer but, has anyone driven their FIT in the snow. If so how did it handle and how much snow was there?

Same goes with me. I bought some Michelin X-ice winter tires the day after I bought my Fit. The car goes through snow with no trouble; even handled slippery conditions well. Mines a MT.

I have a manual 1.3 I-DSI Jazz. I didn't have any problem with Kumho I-ZEN winter tires in deep snow or on ice. It's a good idea to keep the torque low, especially with light cars like the Jazz / Fit.

I drove my Fit all winter this past year and it handled it fine. The stock all seasons were a limiting factor on ice, however, and they'll be replaced by winter tires this season.

At the end of the day though, I had no problems getting around and as long as you drive sensibly for the conditions, you'll be fine. With our winters, I have to drive in very cold temps, ice, slush and snow (accumulations in the 12-18 inch range are very common) and the Fit got the job done. I wouldn't try to drive through 3 feet of fresh snow (we did get that much overnight one day, LOL) but any "standard" winter conditions shouldn't be an issue, especially with good tires.

I have a Sport with a 5 speed.

On the stock Dunlops I had a difficult time getting going in the wet snow we get down here in lower New England. Once going it was usually fine if you're light on the throttle, even the slightest tap at anything higher than 2500rpm sent my wheels a-spinnin'. I have a set of stock Sport wheels that I'll probably be mounting snow tires on this next winter.
