Would anybody be able to help me out? i purchased and performance chip for my honda fit 2008 sport vtec1.5L engine SOHC, and its telling me to install by disconnecting the IAT sensor but not quiet sure where that is located in te honda fit 2008? And any suggestions would help on how to improve horsepower and throttle power to my car would be great...And if anyone can show me a diagram of where the IAT sensor would be. Thanks
IAT is the intake air temperature sensor, but I wouldn't put that in if I were you. As these "performance chips" are a scam.
All this thing does is trick the ECU to think that intake air is colder than it is which will cause it to possibly dump a little more fuel and mess with the timing. It will not be running optimally.
Don't you think the ECU needs to know the incoming air temp for a reason?

Performance chips that actually work are made by at least 4 different manufacturers, and they are modules that are added to the ECU. They cost in the range of $300-500., and they really DO work. None of these are made for the Honda Fit. Buddyw is right in his negative description of the "chip" (actually just a resistor) that you bought. Don't use it. Before you get suckered into any other scams, it will be worth your time to search these forums for more information. This will save you money, and possible damage to your car.
the only real ecu upgrade is from hondata, and it has to be used in conjunction with the kraftwerks supercharger. and its not even out yet.

dam a friend of mine installed it for me earlier today and i drove my car for at least an hour, is it to late did i damage my cars engine or it didnt do much just take it out now and just place the IAT sensor back and take out the chip.
if its going to damage the engine in the long run im taking it off then lol there is no way im going to damage the engine. thanks for the heads up, also any suggestions on what intake system to put in the fit?
you can check the DTC and clear it at most autoparts stores. if you're
into modding cars you should just buy a OBD2 scanner. (or better
yet, get a scanguage2)

is there another way to fix the check engine light besides going to an auto part store. there is no problem with my engine but the reason why it lit up and came on is because i installed the performance chip then drove it for like an hour while the chip was installed. Then i took the chip off the IAT sensor cause i dont want to damage or mess up my engine so i put it back to stock and got rid of the chip.

This is where you have to "help yourself" to the information posted on these forums. ALL of the intakes that work for the Fit, and those that promise to work and DO NOT, are thoroughly discussed here. Just use the "search" button for any intake brand and you will learn a lot.
its hell of a lot better in the long run instead of buying bolt on parts every now and then. those would add up. i wish someone could of told me the advice i am giving you now so i would'nt of spend money on small bolt ons that are hardly an in improvement.
there is the T1R turbo kit, i've drove the ajr time attack fit before, it was really fast and scary lol. its built realy well. the thing i dont like about it is it overheats pretty fast if you don't have a good oil cooler. you'l end up spending quite a bit of money on tunning so the a/f ratio is just right and produces the best powerband across the rpms. but you will make the most power with this kit. cel will come on though but there will be a fix for it.
there's also the kraftworks (sp?) supercharger kit. its just bolt on and go. no tunning required.
no, the engine will not burn. it's all about the tunning/cooling that keeps your engine safe.
