Satellite Radio
Satellite Radio
New Fit owner here, trying to figure out the best place to mount a Satellite radio. I have an older Sportster Replay so it's a bit too big for under the AC controls. I've seen some mounts around the driver side dash near the vent window. Any ideas? I have already run the antenna wire to the front, but I am also debating taking it to a shop to get it wired to the system. Anyone have war stories about wiring their radios? I want to keep the power and aux on the console open for the wife's Zune. Any input would be appreciated.
My little Sirius receiver just sits in the little console pocket near the Aux jack, and plugs into the Aux and power right there. It's no big deal to unplug it for a little while, if I need the power outlet to charge my phone or something. I just switch to the FM or CD temporarily. If you really want to have it mounted and hardwired in, I dunno. Maybe in the useless dash pocket on the left. Also, I feel certain there is a 'Y' adaptor made that will leave the Aux jack open for more plug-ins.
Good luck!
Good luck!
This is where I think i will keep it for now. I'm not quite ready to commit to mounting to the dash. Thanks for everyone's response. I did do a search and have taken in a lot of information.
proclipusa.com has a small bracket that mounts off the A-pillar on that left side where your radio is; right above the vent. See item #803582. That is the vehicle mount, and then a device mount will be needed to mount to the vehicle mount. However, many things could be adapted to the v-mount included your Sirius radio.
