Planning to buy Fit this weekend, best place to buy at invoice?
Hello,
Can't wait for the 2009 any longer. Planning to buy the 2008's this 4th of July weekend. I am in the Southern California area, does anyone know the best place I can get one at invoice? Aiming for 15-16K OTD. I still have my 2003 White Lancer Evolution GSR at 57K miles at $18,995 and its still available. I'm just going to buy the Fit before I get rid of the EVO. Feed back would be greatly appreciated
Thanks,
-David

As stated above, good luck finding one at MSRP. Especially during the first week of the month.

Surely you jest. In socal if you can find one at MSRP without ADP, paint protection, extended warranty, etc you will be ahead of the game as I'm sure many others will tell you. If you're lucky don't look a gift horse in the mouth. Shut up and buy it if you need to buy, plus required taxes, registration, title, and unfortunately the ADP$300-$500 ''documentation' fee. A dealer has far more right to sell his vehicle at the advertised price (or more) than you do asking him to give it to you. He's not in business to lose money.
The average socal family gas bill is approaching $600 a month so getting out of that 14 mpg SUV for a 30+ mpg Fit means you are competing against a horde of buyers. Car sellers are not there to give you anything, they are there to make money. When they have the supply and there are lots of buyers you don't give anything away. Its so bad that many are having to keep the SUV as a storage building because they're buried in it (they owe more than the trade-in value).
If you want another example of supply and demand the local Nissan dealer turned down a $100,000 offer for the new 'Skyline' GX-R. Thats only about $30,000 over list.
Sorry to be so unencouraging but I spend a lot of time with people who are hurting by the price of gas and they don't have the solution; you appear to be able to buy without trading the Evo, and that alone makes you luckier than most.
good luck.

Honda dealers do not sell popular models at invoice. Period.
If you go in expecting to turn the screws on the dealer and make him give you the car for $49 over his actual cost and throw in free floor mats then you are going to be sorely disappointed.
If you want the dealer to beg you to buy the car and give you a super low rock bottom price, head over to the Ford dealer. They will be happy to sell you a 2008 Focus loaded with options for invoice.
If you want a popular Honda model of any kind they you should expect to pay close to MSRP.

I got my 08 Civic for invoice. They just mentioned on NPR that its Honda's best selling vehicle right now and dealers have a "less than 2 week inventory" (whatever that means). So getting a Honda is possible, but probably not super likely right now.

I drove up to Fladeboe Honda in Irvine to pick mine up. I dunno about invoice, but I think MSRP is possible. I bought my Sport AT for $50 over MSRP with free wheel locks and cargo tray.
Try giving Riverside Honda a call too. They offered me $15,882 with free locks and cargo tray also. Didn't buy from them because they didn't have a silver in stock.
I think $16K OTD for a Manual is possible if you're lucky. Just call around and ask for prices. Easiest way.
Good luck!

Hey Guys,
Yeah I just actually bought my Fit Sport Auto today down at Scott Robinson Honda in Torrance. I went about 2 weeks ago and the guy try to screw me over with a 2k mark-up, so I walked out the door when he said the best he could do was only drop it down to 1k mark-up. So I waited, called a few dealers and found some for close to MSRP. Well Finally I decided to call Scott Robinson again, cause they were close to my house, and told them I would give them a second chance. They offer the car 16,740, so with tax I walked out with 18100. I didn't think I did too bad cause what everyone else has been saying on this forum. Anyway just like the evOle, my last car was a 2004 Evo 8 with about 30k miles on it, and I have to admit I love the car so much, but gas sucked. So I was already going to buy the Fit before the accident and keep two cars, but some jerk ran the red light and destoryed my Evo. So \ bought the Honda, cause I have to keep in touch with my roots, first car was a 94 Honda Civic, but wouldn't mind getting another Evo. Honestly dude, if I had the cash money on hand like that, I would have bought your Evo.
My advice is just shop around and let them know you are shopping, and let them wait out.

you your SOL on invoice.
i mean i bought mine at invoice last year...but that was when demand wasnt that high.
no its the 7th hardest to get car....
so i would think that getting it at invoice would be a no.
