Honda cargo mat sufficient to prevent slippage?

Is the rubber Honda cargo mat sufficient to prevent objects from sliding around the cargo bay or should I go with something else? Today on the way to work, my 12 pack of soda was sliding all over the place which makes me realize I need something. I was lucky a can of soda didn't burst.

I can't answer your question from experience, because I don't have the Honda cargo mat. I did cover the entire rear floor with the seats folded flat, with a commercial entry mat from Costco. It is rubberized on the bottom, is black in color, and has raised ribbed squares all over it (to catch dirt from people's feet coming into a store). I used a box cutter to cut between the seat backs so I can raise either seat back without raising up the other half of the cover, also cut holes for access to the metal tie-downs, and riveted hook Velcro patches to the forward edges of the floor cover so it sticks to the top edges of the seat backs-- does not fall down when you raise the seat, but can be pulled loose to act as a cargo cover.

Bullet-proof floor protection, water-proof too, looks good, non-slip, and cost a whopping $17.00.

Probably not, the mat is more of a plasticy/rubber feeling so it wont help too much with grip, its more to keep the area clean and easy to rinse off

I repeat, I do not have a sliding problem with the floor cover that I made for my Fit from the Costco Industrial entry mats that are not plastic.

Good suggestion- the chocks also work fine on the Industrial entry mat floor covers.

I have the stock Honda Fit cargo Tray It has a nice lip about 2 -3 inches high I think it's made of rubber. I think it looks good and would be great for spills.

Are these Industrial entry mats available in the warehouse? If so, which area? I was there today and browsed the auto section but did not see them. They did have some nice looking floor mats for the price ($18) but looked too big for the Fit.

The floor mats that I am talking about are stocked in the stores (not in the automotive section), and they are too big (long) for the Fit. Just cut the mat for an exact fit, even cut the curve to match the back hatch area of the floor. They may be $18.00 now, or maybe I paid $17. and change. They measure a little over 3 ft. wide X 6 ft. or so long, and have rubber on the back side. Heavy- maybe 8 pounds, and are rolled up with a band of plastic film holding the roll together. They keep these mats in different places from store to store.
