my 2008 honda fit is brand new and i brought it home five days ago. i noticed today that it has some rust, as seen on the picture. do you think this is okay? i'm not sure if this is covered by warranty, if i should just clean it and how to clean it. thanks!

That's just oxidation where the tip was welded to the muffler. I bet it looked like that when you picked the car up. Relax enjoy the car don't sweat the little crap like that, you will drive yourself insane.

 

i think it's actually heat flash. happens here, i work at a muffler manufacturer

 

i wouldn't worry about it.
