Got a new HFP muffler here waiting to go on. Is there any metal polish or something I should put on to to preserve the shine or wil it all burn off when in use?

 

When I had a SS muffler I didn't really do anything to it other than wipe it when I washed it and it stayed looking good with no changes the whole time I had it, even through a winter or two with road salt. You can't stop scratches due to where it is, but if the tip gets too grimy I suppose you could use some Flitz polish or Nevr-Dull to brighten it up again with no harm. Realistically though, I don't think you need to do much of anything.
