That is from a year ago and is the JDM Fit. Either way it's a good article!

I love the Fit. My other cars are a CLK 55 Cabrio and Cayenne, and I don't feel at all deprived driving the Fit.

I suspect my demographics may be a litle bit older than most Fit Freaks. Frank Aukofer, the MSJ writer, is the grandfather of my son's friend. Not many guys who write about cars are the former president of the National Press Club; the Washington, DC, Bureau Chief for a major newspaper for over 20 years, or have interviewed US Presidents. Google him if you want. He may actually know what he's talking about.
great introduction </sarcasm>

I don't care what google says, his facts are all wrong and your position as the parent of a kid who's grandfather may be the person used to work at a newspaper and writes about cars that havnt even hit the united states yet isnt exactly confidence inspiring... And why this tiny news paper would have the USDM review before the major auto magazines just makes this look like a typical scheme a small newspaper might use to make pedestrians more likely to pick it up as they walk by... And no one else noticed that he completely left out his driving experienced and replaced it with a couple sentences of generic verbs and adjectives used to describe typical driving dynamics..

This article makes no sense, and considering Car and Driver and all the other big mags haven't gotten their hands on the car yet, I HIGHLY doubt Honda said "Here Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, you be the first!"

Looks like a speculative article...

Actually it is common for automotive journalists to test drive cars months before release. Part of the agreement, however, is that there are details that they cannot release or talk about. This is called an "embargo".

MJS is usually a bunch of crock, I stopped reading it. Although it seems to have some errors in terms of factual information about the 09 fit, it was written pretty well.

I am sure the article was written based on internet buzz and reviews from the auto show. I know we didn't get the 09 fit at the Milwaukee auto show.

Hmmm

Funny, the other just released/previously embargoed reviews corroborate this story. So does the Honda press release. All-New 2009 Honda Fit Big on Style and Refinement, Small on Price and Fuel Consumption - Honda - Press Releases - Selected Story
