first, lower it.
if you have a grand to blow, definitely get coilovers, but if you're just the average person, get some springs
they run you fairly cheap
just a couple hundred dollars, and they make the fit look 100x better, even on stock wheels.

Don't feel pressured to mod your car. Tuning isn't for everybody. If you're happy with your car right now there's no reason to mod for the sake of modding. I've had my Fit for 5 months and I'm planning on keeping it stock (or as close to OEM parts as possible), so I'm right there with ya

My last car was dropped and it looked and felt great. But it was SOOO annoying going over speed bumps and driveways sideways so that I wouldn't scrape. Not doing it again.

If you absolutely have to go over speedbumps (no way around it), then don't lower your car. What do you want to do to it? I'd say for starters get an intake, chambered or cold-air. Could be a nice quickie project for you and your boyfriend to tackle together :P

Good look modding your car! just curious, but how do you know you were one of the first 100 people to have a honda fit in the US?

It doesn't matter much. Point is she has one, and what # it was is not a major issue lol

but she said she HAS to go over speed bumps! I wouldn't lower my car if I had to do that. I'd be pissed if I ever scraped my lip...

Get some HFP wheels and call it a day. That way it'll still look aggressive without looking weird because your car isn't lowered.

A real simple modification is window tint. Tinted mine and love the look. This is the only mod other than a bug deflector to my fit. May do wheels some time. Definitely not lowering it. The curbs in Winnipeg are so high that I have to go up and down them one tire at a time or I scrape my front.

^ just like he said tint your car that should be like th first thing u do. then figure out what u want. its your car do whatever u want to it.

dont feel like u have to mod your car. its like once u get bit from the mod bug its hard to stop. i thought i was goin to leave my car stock but that didnt happen 3 months and 1k down. -_-.

dont drop your car unless you want to. i know the feeling on speed bumps and drive ways over her we get some pretty messed up drive ways that drop cars will get stuck sometimes. my drive way is anit drop car but i'm still goin to drop my car sometime later on.
