I'm trying to decide between the Base and Sport 2009 Fit. One thing that worries me is the spoiler on the Sport. On either I plan to put on a roof rack to carry a cartop aluminum boat(100-200 pounds). Is it possible the spoiler could be knocked off when loading(if for example it is welded on)? Anyone have any comments?

 

They're held in place by bolts. You can take it off in 2 minutes with a 10mm socket and wrench.

No problem, double check the size of the bolt though, it's 10mm on the GD3s but if you've got a GE8 they might've changed it a little bit.

there are two 10mm bolts as stated above and once you take both off you just pull it up and it pops off
