Pinging
I bought a Fit 2005 5 months ago, is a i-DSI 1.4 manual transmition and it has been pinging recently. I took it to the dealer and changed the oil by a special one which solved the problem the first day after that, but then it showed up again.
I am using >90 octanes gasoline and do not undertand what is going on. Could any from Honda company let me know what should I do ?
Thanks,
Colombian

Wouldn't just using higher octane fuel fix the problem. Have you tried purchasing your fuel from a different outlet in case your regular outlet has bad fuel?
I find the car goes better with the higher octane fuel. Mine doesn't ping with standard 91 RON but is sluggish compared to 95 RON and 98 RON. In Japan the min grade fuel available now is 95 RON. Will be trying new 100 RON when it becomes available in Australia later this month.

I've owned three Honda Civics over the years, and they were all very particular about who I bought my gas from. If I didn't get the gas from one of the big providers (Amoco/BP, Texaco or Shell), they'd ping like a set of Big Berthas.
