Not EVERYTHING Fits!
So,
This mirror caught my eye at Hobby Lobby on Friday. I thought, "No problem, this will go right in my Fit. I've moved a chest of drawers and a grandfather clock in there".
Well, it didn't, um, fit. Had to call my brother and get him to bring his Jeep Grand Cherokee to get it home.
So, damn.

Obviously I didn't do something right when posting the pictures. You can see the too-big mirror by clicking the links above. I hope. And I did get them to show up if you'll look down about 3 posts.

Yea, that mirror is pretty huge. I can't think of anything bigger that wouldn't fit inside except for mattresses.
I definately want to see if someone can find a llama to fit inside their fit (just like the fit brochure). I just don't think its possible.

Camel towing
In all fairness, the ones in the Fit ads are alpacas. I can see one of those fitting in a Fit.

I carried that thing through Hobby Lobby, and it was more awkward than heavy. Then, a lady in the checkout line (always a slow-moving line at that place) informed me that she was actually ahead of me in line, when I had thought she was in the line next to me. I let her go on ahead, and asked her, "Do you want to see a picture of a monkey?" She fell for it and said, "Yeah", so I showed her the mirror.
Well, I really tried to load this thing in the Fit, from all angles, and the problem was that the actual opening for the hatch is a little smaller than the cargo space. I really believe it would have gone in and laid flat, but it wouldn't get past the "choke point". Tried from the side in "tall mode" too, but it just wasn't happening.
To top it all off, I hung it in my bedroom, expecting to make the room look bigger, but the big, fat, heavy frame doesn't go well in there. My apartment is kinda small, and needs more airy-feeling furnishings to make it seem bigger. I was hoping for one look, and got another.
My brother said I should put it on the ceiling! I'm not against that, but I would feel like I had to wear my motorcycle helmet to bed with that thing hanging over me!
So I guess I will move it to the living room. Very disappointing.
All together now: Aawwwwwww.

This fits. LOL
If you measure the hatch gap it is less than 48".
( There are 3 pics.)

I recently blew cell. into my mobile home attic. This is the equipment I rented.
These show the 2-50' 3" hoses, 2-50' industrial power cords. 100' switch cord and the blower.

All that trouble and now you can't even hang it where you want it??? Awwwwwww....I'd rep you if I could, but I am out of reps for a while.
I never like mirrors to try and make a room look larger. I go for paint solutions - paint in light colors (but your apartment walls are probably white anyway), light window treatments, sparse furniture, light colors for furniture, trim, etc. and not a lot of clutter.

Picking up a newly-framed photo today; a nude I shot in my shower. Don't worry, it is only rated PG.
Hmm. I'm surprised nobody has commented on the photo, either to say they like it, or how horrible nudity is.
