In real life, the '09s ain't too bad....
i parked next to an ssm GE this past saturday - the owner of the GE left me a note that said "i <3 your Fit"
the GE's still don't do anything for me, i may just have to see one lowered with decent wheels before i start warming up to them

To be honest, when I first saw the GE8 in a magazine, I wasn't feeling it. But after I while, I started liking it. It happens to me a lot. It's like listening to a song for the first time. Once you listen to it a couple of times, then you start to like it.

Hahahahahhahaaaa....yeah, stay out of the *** areas!!
Yes, I is a FIT FRK. If we had more letters I would have been a FITFREAK but we only get 6 letters and one space.
When I showed hubby my Texas title last night he said, OH you got your marriage certificate! "For better or for worse, in sickness and in health..." and he laughed. I said, "Oh you think you are so funny!"
At least the Fit is always waiting for me in the driveway and does whatever I tell it to...
I went by my dealership the other day, and parked my '08 next to an '09 for a quick comparison. The nose isn't really all that different when viewed side by side - it's the roof that's the problem. If you look at an '08, the roof crests right over the driver's head, and slopes back gently from that point to the spoiler. on the '09, the crest is much further back - almost over the head of a back seat passenger. THAT's why it looks like it has a long nose and a funny back end, it's out of proportion.
On a '08, if you look at it from the side, it looks balanced. The roof crest gives the car a front half and a back half. On the '09, it looks more like the car has a front 2/3rds rather than a half. It's real obvious when the are parked next to each other.
Personally, I'm glad I have the '08, but for a different reason than looks - I'm a big guy, and while I fit fine in the '08, the new steering wheel and higher level of padding in the seats mean I'm really jammed up when I try to sit in an '09. Feels like I'm trying to jam myself into a Prius, which was way uncomfortable. Guess this will be my one and only Fit, unless there is a design change down the road.

To me, the '08s look like one car that matches, but the '09s look like a car in the front and a mini-van welded to the back. The slant of the front doesn't look like it should be attached to the van-like rear end. It is a jarring and obvious effect to my eyes.
I'm a 30 year old guy and new to this forum and just leased an 09 Fit. I absolutely loved it when I test drove it. I really like the styling. I find it really unique. To be honest, I would never even consider buying an 08. It just looks like another little hatchback with a tiny front end. It is the 2009 model that caught my eye. To me, it offers all the benefits of a hatchback without looking like just another hatchback that everyone ignores! But, I've realized that everyone likes something different!
I agree with the roofline thing.
The 09' looks to much like our Caravan, and thats a bad thing!
The interior looks like my daughters stereo with all the huge butons ect.
What ever happened to Honda's subdued styling? The new Civics and Accords have also got a bit of the "ugly" built in now.
BMW did this a few years ago and I am glad those cars have reverted back to a more elegant design philosophy. But Honda?
