You can remove the front, rear, and side spoliers. Sell them here or on ebay.

Anyone know if silver is a stable color? I have always heard that the metallic colors are the most unstable..

Silver hides swirls and the metallic in it looks awesome.

no worrying about pre-ordering, espically in so cal. they will be everywhere.

the color also havent been annouced, except for silver/orange/baby blue.

On a post at edmunds one guy pointed out that there were holes in the sheet metal for attachment points. There was also adhesive tape that he was concerned about removing. he solved that but the holes stopped him. He stated they would need to be filled and the panel repainted.

My family has always bought silver cars. My dad thought it was the best color. It certainly looks good, especially on a Porsche or BMW (Traditional German racing color). I think today, with the quality of paints and clearcoating, any color will last as long as you take care of it. Having a garage to keep it out of the sun is probably the best thing.

I agree with BKKJack about Silver. I've had Silver Accords, Mercedes and Toyota. The Totota is a 98 4Runner that I have parked outside for years and the color is still great. I also agree that paints are better than ever. The problem paints I've had over the years have been real bright colors like Red. I've had two of them that faded. I think the first year cars are all from Japan. They should have great quality.

Red always fades. I don't know what it is about it, it just does.

Smile Placed deposit at list today

I was actually suprised that I still could be first at the dealership. It helped that it's in a rural state. Don't think I could have been first in LA. Get on the list to have the option. People reading these posts know more about this Honda than 99.9% of the american public. Take advantage of your advanced knowledge. Deposit 100% refundable for any reason.

well...

This is the thing man, down here in so cal, we will have the option of at least 15 or so dealerships, so being on a list just gets you a call.

But you may have a problem, because god knows how many your dealership will get. anyways, good luck.

I went throught this with a Matrix XR. I wanted the options but not the skirts. Both the dealer and Toyota refused to touch them, "void the warranty.... yadda yadda". Someone from Toyota told me they couldn't be removed because they were part of the frame! Right. It looked to me like _all_ the Matrixi had the holes, but they had plugs in them if they didn't have skirts. I just gave up and left them on.

I'd say get the car you want and don't worry about it if it comes with them. If they get damaged, you can remove them then. I don't think they are as vulnerable as they look.

What color is this? It's from the US Honda 'Fit society' page in the gallery but it doesn't match any of the colors listed.

I think it's Lunar Mist, but it looks a lot more teal here than it did at the Auto Show. It's more of a light blue.

I'm looking to tow a car behind our motorhome. Have you found any info that confirms the FIT can be flat towed without modifications? Amer. Honda says the 06 Civic and Accord are not certified for flat towing. If the FiT tranny is the same as the Civic I don't think I want to take the chance.

Flat Tow

I have a Dollie, but I'm also buying a manual transmission to tow it four wheels down. I don't think there could be a problem. Honda never seems to want to confirm 4 wheels down.

I think the fact that the West Coast is much closer to Japan then the East Coast, we will be getting the first Fits in the US. We are getting it as early as mid March although its more likely late March but the dealers here by mid March will know pretty much everything about there cars as far as options available, all the colors available exterior and interior.

I just called a local dealer and I am definitely getting it as soon as they get there first shipment but they are only getting 2 manuals and 7 automatics and they dont know what trim neither of those 9 are yet. I am crossing my fingers that one of the 2 manuals is Silver metallic and a sport model if so then in about a month or so I should be driving my Fit waiting for the perfermance parts to come in from Japan haha.

I called Remco to check on what's required to tow Honda 4 down. They actually had a recording just for Honda questions. If you don;t know they sell modifications to allow almost any car to be towed. They said all gas front wheel drive Honda's, with a couple of exceptions coud be towed 4 down, both automatic and manual. To back that up they a transmission warrenty on Honda's they mention for 50,000 miles. http://www.remcotowing.com/main.asp or Call 800-228-2481. I changed my order from manual to automatic and base to sport.

We received our allocation from Honda, for the first wave of the fits. We here at Rick Case Honda we will be getting (12) A/T models in late march to early April. The M/T is going to be hard to get. We are the largest dealer in the whole Southeast region of the United States and we are only receiving (2) M/T one in a sport and one in a base model. The manual is going to a high demand car because so many people want to get back in to the feel of driving, and any one who drives, knows that you get the most interaction out of the car when you drive a stick. (It’s also really fun.)
If you would like a fit in an M/T than you may have to wait a little longer, but it’s going to be an awesome car and well worth the wait.

If you are serious about a “Fit” than get down to your local Honda dealer and get some info on the car and leave a deposit on one. The car is already hot and it’s not even out yet. Or email mail me @ robertbrowne@rickcase.com for more info…
