I owned a Honda City Turbo II. It was a very good little car. I think I was about 17 when I had her. She was silver with the red lettering Turbo II on the side and she had tinted windows and mags, also a digital dash. I eventually had to let her go as the car started to blow white smoke out of the exhaust so I guess that meant the Turbo had died - neat little car.

I remember sitting in a Honda City (as the Jazz was known in Japan at the time) in 1985. The first thing that amazed me was how surprisingly roomy in the back the City was considering its size! I think it was the fact people sat more upright in the City, so Honda was able to get more legroom into such a short wheelbase vehicle.

The current Honda Fit/Jazz is more a function of modern computerized auto design, where they designed a car with maximum interior space and minimum exterior size. That's why the Fit/Jazz is physically about the size of the first-generation Volkswagen Golf/Rabbit but a LOT roomier inside.

I believe that was the Motocompo scooter. People best remember it from the original You're Under Arrest Japanese anime OAV series from the middle 1990's.

Here's a picture of what the Motocompo scooter looks like:

bump this thread up .. lol i know its old!

but hey, the first gen City / Jazz is such a cool car. i've had a 84 white 1.2L proT one for 1.5 yrs, just recently passed tat on to a good friend of mine. great example of well built Honda, the car just keeps going and going, very fun to drive & reliable. having both Gen's Jazz in my garage at tat stage was one of the coolest things.

martymcfly do u still own one?

here's a quick find of an interior pic of my old City. wish i've taken more pics of it

No I don't. I wish my parents still keep it. It served my folks well for 10 years. My mom likes it a lot and we still talk about it once in a while. It sure was a gas-saver.

I recall some of the accessories that practically didn't exist in this class of cars: Rear fog lights (both sides), interior cooler (above the glove compartment), front door cup holders, underseat tray (storage).... It was a brilliant design at that time.
