Where's my new Jazz made??

I'm buying a brand new UK Jazz CVT-7 this week and assumed it was Japanese, but after going on this forum now think it could be Chinese! Any guesses/help out there?
How I scoffed in the Toyota dealership when I saw a "made in Turkey" sticker in a Corolla Verso as well!!

You can tell for sure via the VIN number. You can't trust what any dealer just says.

If the 1st letter is J then its made in Japan.
China is L I think but if its not J then its not made in Japan.

The Jazz is also manufactured in Brazil and Thailand but as far as I'm aware only imported from Japan and China to England and Europe.

Thailand is ML to MR and Brazil 9A to 9E or 93 to 99.

I didn't ask and as I'm now committed I'll just have to wait and see I suppose
I've found the link with the VIN codes on so will know soon
Five years ago we had a new Yaris 6 months earlier than we planned, to avoid a French made one as production was just beginning there
The Japanese seem to be able to take their reputation for build quality anywhere. I worked for TMMUK (Toyota) some years back and the build quality of the early Carinas built in the UK was deemed as good as from Japan
It was just a surprise to learn that i may have just spent £12K on a Chinese car...........

All comes down to quality control. If and its a big IF it can be maintained then it shouldn't really matter.

3 series BMW, C Class mercs and some VWs are made in South Africa. Most 4WDs including those from BMW, Porsche and Mercedes are made in the US.

I just think there should be a duty of disclosure as to the country of origin. Its required for most nearly everything else. If there is nothing to hide then why are the manufacturers so afraid to stick a big made in Turkey, Spain, Hungry, Korea sticker on their cars.
