Why aren't there any TV commercials for it!?!?!?!?


Doesn't it seem strange that a car that is supposed to be released in the next few months is not plastered all over the media????

I guess this is par for the course with Honda...considering the veil of secrecy we've seen so far.

 

I actually applied recently for a job at honda in torreance, they needed help with their promotional team, and I think for good reason.

I think in april, they will just go all out. It still crazy that the arent pushing this thing. Even at the LA auto show, they ran out of FIT catalogs. kinda dumb huh?

 

Not really strange considering Honda's ways. Come March/April, Honda should be doing a huge media blitz for the Fit but not until then.

 

Mazda did the same with the new Miata...nothing right up until the release date.

 

Kind of wasted money if you advertise now. People will see the commercial and want to go to Honda and get more info (which there isnt any right now) and see and drive one. People dont have very long memories these days. Alot of people make snap decisions, so they advertise when that is possible.

It'll be about the beginning of March when they slam us with all the advertising. You can't promote too early, or the hype wears off by the time the car comes out. And like at the Auto show, it's okay if they run out of brochures, because they only want a few people to have them, so they can tell their friends. Word of mouth is the best advertisement.

 

I've said this in the start of the forum that The Super Bowl will be the coming out party for the intro of the Fit just like when Honda first introduced the Del Sol back in the 1993 Super Bowl Commercials.

 

I agree, they did the same with the Ridgeline - debuting it on TV during the superbowl.
