Replacement 2008 Jazz Key

I would be interested to learn where I can obtain a cheap replacement key for a Honda Jazz 2008 - preferably with the remote buttons. The local dealership has quoted a price of €400!

Are Fit and Jazz keys programmed differently?

Your advice would be appreciated.

Kind Regards
Chris

I wish I could order a Jazz key with remote over the internet for 63 USD. I live on the Island of Cyprus and an original Honda Jazz key costs 400 Euros or ($515 USD or $637 CAD). Actually there is only one dealership on the island for original Honda parts so its Hobson's choice. The prices are not actually the fault of the dealership. They have to bring in the parts from the plant in Germany and that's what they get charged. The guy at the parts counter was very sympathetic and told me to try and get a third party key somewhere else. There are local third party key shops but the programming for the latest Jazz has not yet arrived. Even when it does the keys will cost maybe €120 ($155 USD) and will not have a remote. I have been told that if I obtain a Fit key it cannot be programmed to work on a Jazz (If thats true then I suppose Honda Europe have arranged that to increase their profits).

Any suggestions would be welcome. I really need a link to purchase a programmable Jazz key over the internet. I guess I can get a cheap Fit key fromthe USA but is it really true that it can't be programmed to work on a European Jazz? Has anyone tried?

Kind Regards
Chris

Not sure if the US Fit key will work with the Jazz.
Hopefully the US key will work and you can just program it yourself when it arrives, as that is the least expensive option.

But as another alternative maybe you can order it from Greece, or Italy and it might be cheaper, as a safer bet?

Yasou koumbare!

Good Luck.

You cannot program the immobilizer yourself. You can however program the unlock/lock/panic portion.

Well after a lot of searching the cheapest Jazz key I could find in Europe is €231 (thats $300 US) from a company called CMS in the Netherlands for a Honda original blank (part number 35111-SAH-305). It seems to be that or nothing at all. I suppose after it arrives I will have to pay the local dealership to programme the immobiliser for me. (Probably another €50)

Please can someone advise me where can I find instructions to programme the open/close functions on the remote?

Kind Regards
Chris

Yes it's more likely $107 plus and you'll pay $80+ for the key itself without programming.

I know it is an old thread but I came accross this site and the advise hear so though I would contribute in case it helps.

The price for Cyprus sounds very high but if it is like Greece, nearly everything is more expensive than anywhere else in the EU.
The dealer will not be supplying you parts at the price they pay for it - they have to have a markup to cover their costs and of course make a prfit, it just seems that in some countries they want to make more than others if they can.

In Athens the main Honda importer has quoted me 270eur for a new key, cutting and reprogramming - this is for the 2007 model Jazz though.
If I get my own key (secondhand from a wrecked one or from UK or wherever else I can get it cheaper in EU) then they will charge around 60eur for the service of programming the new key to work with the cars immobiliser. The metal part of the key can just be swapped over from key to the new key I believe.
I have not done this yet but that is the plan after what I have read online...
