American/Canadian Fit Differences

New here, waiting for my new Fit to say Sayonara to the assembly line and arrive here. Still trying to learn. I am trying to get an overview of the differences between US and Canadian versions of the 2009 Fit. Such things as:
- standard features
- optional features
- different specs
- differences in available colors (can they call it Revolution Orange in a land that is loyal to the Crown?)
- differences in price

I couldn't find anything via the Search function. Any help appreciated.

All our Fits come with the aux jack.
We have a middle model called the LX (which is what I have). Base, LX and Sport.
It comes with everything that the Sport has except the spoilers and a less powerful stereo.

Some things that come to mind:
- The Canadian windshield washer tank is larger.
- No navi option.
- No map lights.
- No spare tire if transmission is automatic.

No spare tire with automatic. I am guessing that the spare is replaced with a can of Fix-a-Flat, a 12 volt inflator device and a Voodoo charm, as opposed to installing run-flat tires all around.

I remember hearing that too. Without TPMS, you very definitely could not use run-flats. I can assure you that with 0 psi pressure, a run-flat looks normal visually. The Fix-a-Flat approach has limitations, since many flats are caused by a foreign object damaging the sidewall, and these cannot be reinflated.

This is true.

Everything that I can think of has been mentioned. I believe that even our sport stereo in the GE8s now come with the 160 Watt unit. One other thing is that our Sport Automatic doesn't come with the paddle shifters. This is for the '09s. The GD3's came with them though.

Honda Canada changed the colour name at the last minute from Sherbet Blue to Tidewater Blue.

The 09's have TPMS.
In 08' it was optional for the manufacturer.

In the wallet:

USA Fit base price $14,750 (USD) = $17,966 (CDN)
$670 (USD) $816 (CDN) destination charge

CDN Fit base price $14,980 (CDN) $12,297 (USD)
$1,310 (CDN) $1,075 (USD) destination charge

One wonders if a Fit bought in Canada and registered in the USA is a good idea? A year ago, we Canadians were buying cars in the USA and bringing them to Canada, savings were well worth the exchange on mid to higher end vehicles. This has been killed off by the USA/CDN exchange rates of current.

Honda Canada ought to simply name the colours after hockey teams. I know I would have bought a Habs red Fit. Living in Calgary, I suspect some noses would be bent outta shape and a certain Fit would be keyed to death. Well, not more so than the guy driving an Oilers theme Fit in Calgary.
