09 Fit base fuel tank?

That's funny....the manual says it's got a 10.6 gallon fuel tank but I pumped 10.973 gallons today and the fuel light was on for only 19 highway miles...what gives???

The tank may only be 10.6 Gal but it is situated under the front seats... that's a long ass filler neck! Plus if you continued to pump after the click you may have also filled the evap canister as well.

Doubt if I filled the evap can because it sucks from the top of the tank most probably from a baffled area that doesn't have gas in it just fumes. I mean if I can put 10.973 gallons in it then anyone can and would Honda really allow you to be able to inadvertently fill the evap can....I think not.

Oh you can if you do what we call a "super fill" and keep on going way past all of the warning clicks...

well i just pumped real slow and when it shut off i looked in the filler and the gas stayed at the filler hole where the nozzle goes in so i did fill the filler pipe for sure but don't know about the evap can. even if i did I don't think that will be any problem.
