I put a deposit down yesterday for a black on black 5MT Sport and since dealers dont have pricing for the Fit yet of any kind, he couldnt tell me how much it would be and what transmission is standard on what trim.

About feeling antsy? People like me are gonna be more antsy then others who know exactly when there car is being produced, what color/trim/transmission they are getting and when it is set to arrive. By the way, most Honda dealers in California wont be getting theres no earlier then late April because based on the salesman who I spoke to yesterday who took my deposit, the production dates for most Fit's coming to the US are either the 3rd or 4th week of March and it takes at the very least 3 weeks for those cars to be delivered to the US so early May is a better estimate of when they will actually get here.

I really wish it was sooner but oh well.

The Fit site is down again. I hope this means something, but I'm not getting to excited - it could be technical difficults after all. Time will tell.

It's back up again if it did went down. One thing still bothers me though, is their listing: UPDATE...it is down! It think they are updating the site, hopefully new stuff is coming soon.

Fit Sport adds:
Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters (5AT only)
Body-colored underbody spoilers
Body-colored rear roofline spoiler
Fog lights
15-inch alloy wheels
Security system with remote entry
200-watt AM/FM/CD audio system with MP3/WMA playback capability, auxiliary input jack, 5-mode equalizer and six speakers
Cruise control
Available 5-speed manual transmission

I know Honda wants to emphasize on the paddle-shifters but this is how I read it:

The Fit Sport Model ADDS paddle shifter but if one does not want paddle shifting they can opt for the available 5spd mt. Let me know what u think people.

People! It's a freakin typo! It never ceases to amaze me how rumours start from a tiny little mistake and snowball into people running around screaming the sky is falling!

To offer manual transmission as an option, and automatic as standard would be the first time ever in history. It makes no sense, It should read:

Available 5-speed automatic transmission.

Hopefully soon to be Fitted!
I won't even be back to the U.S. to buy mine until December, and I feel the same way. I plan to live vicariously through all of you. I will also be renting one for a vacation next month.

Eventhough you might not be a golf fan. Next week is the PGA Tour tournament sponsored be Honda. Seems like a good time to start the commercials...

From my experiences, it would take at least 4 weeks if you live in the West coast for your car to arrive from Japan after its production date. 6 weeks for those of us living in the East coast.
