i get that all the time.. but be careful cuss it can be dangerous when you get out at times and have that static and pump gas it can ignite catch on fire... check this out

I'll try this. Makes sense and it should work. Touch metal while stepping out vs. stepping out all the way the coming back to touch the car.

Easy, solved this last summer. When exiting the car, open the door, place a hand on any metal part of the door area and keep it there, feet to the ground and butt off seat....let go of the metal door area. Every now and then I forget....electroman is reborn. I await a gas station blow-up any day.
The air around Calgary is dry, this is also a cause of the static. I have a humidifier in my condo, this does help.

tried and it works! right before leaving the car i don't move off the seat, i touch the metal part of the door and then i slide myself out. no shock!! :-D awesome!

hahaha. actually it may be because of my new floor mats. I didnt have floor mats before, and my gf bought me the oem carpet ones for christmas. The fabric on the mats feel really rough and abrasive. That just might be it. LOL. But no joke, its like a full on shock, not a tingle or anything. LOL!
