Smile What brand is honda fit navi?

Hey all,

Can anyone tell me the brand and or model that the Honda Fit Navigation uses? Also would it be cheaper to get the Navi with the car or do a install myself? I want it in the dash like it is in the Honda not mounted!

THANKS.

I've heard that it's made by Alpine, but I could be wrong.

The factory NAVI includes VSA, which may or may not be worth it to everyone.

I added an in-dash Pionneer NAVI (one of the best out there) AVIC-F90BT
for a cost of:

Pionneer NAVI: $636
Honda NAVI panel: $35
Installation: $126
TOTAL ~ $797

Granted, I don't have VSA, but I saved $1000 + tax, insurance, etc on the cost difference.

My Pionneer has Bluetooth, DVD playback, XM, Sirius, HD radio, MSN Direct which I believe are features missing from the Honda factory NAVI. It also doesn't require you to put in the stupid DVD to use NAVI like the Honda unit does.

Smile Hey

Thanks a lot friend. Is this the model you are talking about?

Newegg.com - Pioneer 5.8" GPS AV Receiver with CD Player and Built-In Bluetooth Model AVIC-F700BT

Yea I think I will like this one WAY better. And its cheaper than the Honda charges!

Does the GPS/Bluetooth go through the speakers in the honda? And whats VSA?

No, he's talking about the F90BT, which is a couple steps up from that one. Check out Pioneer Premier AVIC-F90BT. From what I understand, the phone sound comes out through the left speaker.

Well I would love bluetooth...and love gps/dvd/ipod/sat radio but is VSA really needed? Does it help control the car? And VSA only comes with the navi car models right? VSA doesn't come with the normal fit sport package?

Thanks,

::rayman::

*Shrug* I don't have VSA and I seem to be able to control the car just fine...

Made by Alpine. I think model AVN-DVD CO0.

It's better to get the Navi with car which is about $1800. You're looking at about $4000 in parts for the OEM Navigation from Majestichonda for self-installation.

installation of a navi is pretty simple,
someone needs to do a DIY write up
