New article on Honda Fit 2007

The article seems to have an error... unless things have changed...

It says the Base model comes with Cruise control and AM/FM radio...

Is that true?

Here's the quote:

"Two versions of the Fit will be available, including a not-so-basic base model with air conditioning, cruise control, adjustable steering column, power windows, mirrors and door locks and a 120-watt four-speaker audio system with speed-sensitive volume control.
Those Fit fanatics who pick the optional Sport model will enjoy the add-on aero-style body kit, bigger (15-inch) rubber, premium sound system and a rear spoiler. "

I believe on honda dot com it mentioned something about cruise control

Ok looks like cruise is only for the sport

They mentioned the 120 watt audio system. That is old info. It's 160 for the base and 200 for the Sport. I wouldn't trust the cruise-control info. This guy is on his way to CNN. Typical reporter BS. Gets old info, doesn't bother to verify it or check for updates, and writes a story that is going to cause a bunch of headaches when the less-informed go to a dealership and don't get cruise on their base model. Sorry about the rant.

My #1 criterion in a vehicle is that will take a road bicycle (low handle bars) inside upright (w/ front wheel off), preferably two. Can the Fit do that between seats only, or from the rear as well? Can it do that better than any other small car in US? Or are there other options I should look at?
I also want a decent ride and fairly low highway noise level. Can Fit deliver this or am I asking too much?

Hello oldguy (oldspark here) one reason I am buying a Fit is the bicycle thing, I believe two bikes will fit upright by taking off the front wheel and lowering the seat or taking it off. IMHO you will not find another small car that will do this as well as the Fit, so far the reports are the ride is good and the quality is there.

Oldguy: I rented a Fit in Bangkok last November. When I went to return it, I threw my mountain bike behind the front seats. I left the front wheel on, and just had to loosen and slide the rear wheel forward a bit to close the door. Had I removed the front wheel, it would have been a snap. Two should fit easily, and you would still have the rear for your gear. I was happy with the ride and power. It was the two days I spent in the Fit that convinced me this car will be #1 on my list when I move back to the U.S. at the end of this year.
