What aftermarket parts VOID factory warranty?!?

Some one please shed some light into this very dark area of knowledge...

I thought that any aftermarket part, that is not from the dealer (meaning genuine HONDA PART) has the potential to void the warranty...

what through a wrench in my thoughts, was as i was sitting waiting for my car at the dealer, i was in the showroom and saw an EIBACH lowering Spring set for sale!!!! the dealer was selling a part that could void the warranty???!!!

thanks...

a modification part only voids the warrenty if the dealer can prove that it broke the oem part that you are trying to get fixed under warrenty.

if you install lowering springs on your fit and all of a sudden the window motors go out they cant cancel the warrenty cause you have aftermarket parts on your car.

Ok, so if they can not prove that the part installed is indeed the reason why the problem occurred then they can not void the warranty...

thanks...

Although I might think that even an intake can void the engine and transmission warranty. Lets see they see an aftermarket intake and your clutch goes out at 5,000 miles. Wont they try to say that the extra power from the intake was more than what the clutch was meant to handle thus making it fail? Obviously thats BS but im just thinking from their point of view in ways that they can get out of doing repairs under warranty.

the clutch doesnt fall under warrenty unless it is a factory defect. the clutch is a consumable part that is expected to eventually wear out and needs to be replaced. they would tell you that they cant warrenty the clutch if you took your fit to the drag strip every weekend and burned it up even if you are bone stock. dealers will always try to find a loop hole so they dont have to work on your car for free.

Well the clutch was just an example. I was just saying the simplest mod that you would think is harmless could void your entire warranty due to 'accelerated wear' I think is what they call it. I mean you can always just take it out when you go in for repairs assuming its a simple bolt on.

i have taken mine in to get looked at but the kids working in the service department all have highly modded ek's and dc's and think that me being the first modded gd3 is really cool. i have had no problems. i guess it just depends on how picky the dealer is.
