Question What risks do i take making my fit nitrous?

i was planning on installing this zex kit on my car:
Zex: Honda Fit Nitrous System

i was wondering if it is a waste of money or if it will be a good upgrade..?

you only run the risk of putting nice holes in you piston.

they are really only speed holes and help your car run faster.

save for turbo instead, more power and no having to refill with lots of reliabilty.

unless you plan to really race, i find no reason to install nitrous.

nitrous is like a good looking girl with STD's:
you want to do it, but you're scared of the consequences.

Engine blowing up from detonation with subsequent valve damage. Except for grag racers not much use.

There is no reason for that. Even high end performance cars don't run it. They will run alcahol injection or race gas but that has no effect on the engine but gives u sh** load more HP. it just gets costly for it.

Have any of you ran nitrous? *squints*

Nitrous is fine. Make sure its a wet kit (nitrous and fuel) and whatever shot you do (stay 75shot and lower) make sure you have enough fuel to compensate.

Whats good about a nitrous kit over a turbo kit. If you want to save your motor just turn the switch off. That way youll still have wide open throttle. With a turbo or a SC you cant turn it off.

To keep it safe, start with a 50shot. Get a wideband air/fuel gauge and make sure the air/fuels are safe.
11.0-11.5 AFRs.

I have run nitrous on 90 percent of my vehicles from a goped to Geo metro to my 57 Belair. Its a blast.....nothing else like it. You need to do your homework FIRST. More is NOT always better. I have yet to damage a motor and been running it for 28 years

I would only do it the way I am Ray suggests.
Otherwise your motor is basically like a grenade with the pin pulled.
My last snowmobile had nitrous, but it was set up by a friend who really knows what he is doing. He was on an episode of 'Pinks' on speed channel LOL, dont know if you saw the one show on snowmobiles.

why is everyone hating on nitro? its just as safe as running a turbo as long as you install correctly you will be fine. Zex has a full write up on how to install this kit and its easy as shit. Also it is a wet kit which means even better because you really want to avoid DRY kits. The only way there will be detonation is if you ran lean which means you taking it to redline and they have cutoff switches that automatically turn off the nitrous when the system senses it running lean and they are only $20.

with a 45 shot you can make more power than a kraftwerks supercharger base kit. so $600 and $20 more for the colder spark plugs and someone to install it and you have saved your self money in the long run if you just wanted to have fun everynow and then.

im saving up for the kit myself. the highest zex has the shot up too is 55 but even that would be IMO pushing it

also tunerzine did this and they have a pic/write up on it.
dyno to show gains
Here's our dyno run, and after couple runs we netted a solid 33hp gain at the wheels on a 45hp shot! Just be careful, Nitrous can be addicting

From: Central GA,
i have not ran any nitrous in my fit, I ran a zillion lbs of it in my civic and besides it smoking a little after 100k miles didnt notice any damage...

with that said, I ran a dry kit.... but I had a fuel pressure regulator and a wide band o2, Dont know what the fits ability is to compensate for the fuel so i cant tell you.

a 50 shot will feel like you have douled your horse power. you figur you have 110 right now.. . hey, its cheap, its fun and as far as the std thing... as long as you follow some precations and thier cheap.. rubber .75 for the stds and a wideband for 300 fpr for 100 ish you will be fine..

also the wide band will carry over for your turbo and if you are planning turbo use those plans when purchasing the fpr...

sit back floor it and grinn....
