The Fit might be gone !

ok so i was at the honda dealership getting my oil changed so i figured wail i wait id look around so i seen the 09 civic SI 4door *drool* iv allways seen them never payed them any attention and never drove one not even the ep3's. so i figured id see if i could test drive it took it for a test drive it now i think im either trading my fit in on one or selling it out right becouse i payed cash for my fit i might sell it out right first becouse ill be losing alot of cash trading it in i payed 17,117 and thay wanna give me 13,400. the civic is so nice i love how low you sit in the car the fit you sit really high i love how the seats hug you the fit just makes you a$$ hurt lol the shifting is super smooth 6th gear is a little tricky (first time iv drove a 6speed was scared to hit reverse till i figured it was locked out) and the back seat is bigger then the fit, in the fit its hard to have my babys seat in there and have the front seats sitting right, and on the 09 i really dont like the hang time the flywheel has, it has a very very high rev its good for racing but for city driver its not all that great. and there not fast like everyone says lol my 99 hatch with a SOHC with all stock internals that i boosted was faster but im really in love now lol. i was going to buy a bagged truck or a street bike with my tax return but now i think it will be going twords this SI so the fit might be gone. so ill keep you guys posted on a *PART OUT* if the person dosent wanna buy it as-is.

oh and if anyone has heard any bad things about the new SI please let me know and i think im going to be getting the white w/Navi

i love the Si sedan. i'm thinking about getting one in a couple years (closer to when my wife and i are thinking about having kids) as my "practical family car" and keeping the Fit as a project.

WHITE SI W/ NAVI?? Man don't say that! I love that car! lol my brother has a Silver '08 SI W/ Navi. He n i love the car. Its great looking, feels great, DRIVES great. Overall i doubt he has anything to say bad about it. He picked it up back in october. I think he said his only regret was getting that color because now, there is not a day that goes by that we don't see at least 3-4 other silver si on the road. we wanted white so bad but no one had it at the time.

i also plan on getting a SI but probably 3-4 years after the next gen. 2013 maybe?? just picked up my '09 BSP FIT AT W/NAVI last thurs so im not gonna get anything netime soon.

How much they want for it. Really for the price of a SI which i think looks great but not a great performance car at all, u could get a evo. I have been looking into them again do to the price of them now. U can get a nice evo 8 or 9 for 17k-23k with less than 30,000 miles on them. Alot of people that own evos can't afford them do to loosing houses geting kids things like that. in about 2 years when my fit is payed for i am geting one and keeping the fit as a DD. I might get one before but i really don't want 2 car payments again. Just my 2 cents Si look sick don't get me wrong but perform like a fat pig

just pic a dealer with the best price and then have them order you one, most dealers work togeather and will trade other cars for the car you want so thay can get you one if not thay will have it ordered from the factory may take up to a month tho.

here is part of the email i got from I-79 honda (the best place to go)

I currently have a few SI models in stock with more on the way. The SI- NAVI has an original MSRP of $24,755, but this month I can offer you a special internet only price of $22,755 on any in stock unit. This price includes the destination charge of $670 that some other dealers have been leaving off of their quotes to make them seem more aggressive than they actually are. When comparing quotes please make sure that they all include this charge of $670. With this price you will also receive the highest trade allowances around, the 5year/100k warranty, and free birthday oil changes every year for as long as you own your Honda. Honda is offering special rates on the civic this month.

The Si's are nice. 6-sp, 200HP, LSD, etc. Different category than the Fit. I really like the sedan Civic design and would love to get one and do some cosmetic stuff to make it look like the Type R versions we never got.If you don't mind the lesser MPG and premium fuel, go for it. They are nice cars. Haven't heard any real issues with them.
Also, realize that if they're offering you $13k for your Fit, that means you will save that much in taxes for your new Fit (i.e $13k x 7% = $910 in tax savings). I'd rarely say that trading in is a good idea, but seems like they're giving you a fair deal. And of course, take off all of the aftermarket parts on your Fit...

I would love to have the SI sedan. I would go silver but I'm a silver car whore so I guess I'm biased

I hope that's with a Navigation system. If not, overpriced, IMO.

I understand your decision. I was in a 2008 Honda Civic Si (4-door) and there was sooooo much drool all over the place. Even my dad, who isn't what I would call a car enthusiast (well, for muscle cars yeah, but not for cars like the Si), really liked it, except for the price.
