US Spec Fit
How can the US spec Fit be 3 seconds faster than the Japan Fit according to the info on the FitFreak.net website when it's listed as having less HP? And How come The US Fit only is rated @ 33 City & 38 hwy? When the Japan Fit is almost 49 hwy?
For HWY I think those are imperial gallons, which are bigger than US gallons.
the speed, I was confused too. But I swear when I first researched the US fit, I compared the jaapanese one and the US one had 10 more hp. One thing that confuses me about this site is if it has agency in US, asia, or europe. Is fitfreak american, european, or asian website?

From what a regular on another Honda forum posted, the reason why the US-market Fit is faster than the JDM Fit up to 60 mph is the fact the gearing on the US-market car favors more low-end acceleration. This is why Honda used a five-speed automatic (derived from the 2006 Civic automatic); the CVT used on the Fit actually has relatively low initial acceleration due to the fact Honda designed it this way as a safety measure for driving on Japan's crowded streets.
Japanese cars are rated in PS not HP. PS is a slightly higher metric power measurement then the standard HP that the US uses. Not sure where anyone got the idea that the Japanese Fit is 10hp more then the US but thats not the case at all. The 1.5L JDM Fit is rated at 110ps which is practically equivalent to 109hp. Also the gearing as someone mentioned at least on the MT's of both regions are the same. The Japanese Fit's CVT is probably slower to 400m then the US's 5AT and that would be due to gearing of the CVT or lack there in this case since the CVT doesnt have fixed gear ratios like MT's or AT's.
