That depends on your state - North Carolina charges tax on agreed price + destination - rebates/incentives. I would imagine most states are similar.

For what it's worth, a guy in York, PA says on the TOV forum that the Fit invoice price is $600 under MSRP.

Any confirmations yet?

Carsdirect still hasn't updated any prices yet.

I'm itching to find out what invoice will be. Are there any particularly good times of the year to buy Hondas? They don't really do anything like a "Toyotathon" or anything like that.....can I expect any incentives during the course of the year?

I've never bought a new Honda.

Honda Fit Sport w/AT: $15,082.00

I'm hearing from another thread that that's what the invoice is for the automatic sport, but no confirmation of this yet, correct?

I think it is pretty standard that any dealership has to pay some taxes or fees or something for their inventory on Dec 31 (or maybe Jan 1). I have always heard the week after Christmas and before the new year is a good time.

Like with almost just about any car dealer, except GM who is begging for customers at any time, the best time to buy is at the end of the month, end of the quarter, end of the year.

My argument has always been that the Fit will sell for invoice by May, probably the end of May. If not for sure by the end of June, which is the end of Q2.

I think invoice for the base is about $600 to $750 less than MSRP and the sport is about $800 to $1,000 off.

I dont have the numbers but usually it is about 2000 us dollers mark up. This is the case for the civics and accords. My banker should me a couple pages as examples. The thing about the fit is no info has been available. I bought my car in washington stat for invoice price. no hassle and I was out the door. I am very happy.

I've had two different salesmen at two different dealers tell me $500 and the other said $800 markups from invoice to MSRP. Who knows. All I know is I can wait a couple months if I do decide to buy so I don't have to pay MSRP.

it would have nice to wait till next month or june, but hell i had to sacrafice myself and get one now for msrp...my friend needed his truck back so i was stuck and living in south fl not having a car sucks...not to mention i refuse to take the bus!!! maybe waiting a little i would have been able to save a little money, could not wait any longer so i am ok by getting it so fast even though i did not find out the invoice
