Smile Getting Closer!

I just talked to the dealer where I put my deposit down. I guess they got tired of me leaving messages and decided to call me back. Anyway, they said the ETA for my car is 4/14-4/18. Now, I just have to worry about them jacking up the price on me. He gave me a quote of $16,195 for a base model with automatic transmission. What do you guys think?

I'd get his bottom line, out-the-door price. My Fit Sport automatic was priced at MSRP. By the time everything was added up, price came to $18,039.

I hope that's with tax, tags, etc. included. If not...damn. My price out the door on a Fit Sport manual is around $16,500...and I think that VA taxes are very similar to NC taxes IIRC.

According to the guy I spoke with, that is the price out-the-door. Another dealer in Fairfax quoted me almost $900 more, so I think this is my best bet.

Last time I checked, Virginia charges 3% sales tax on cars.

So does NC. Looking at price diff between base auto and sport manual, looks like our quotes are similar.

keep in mind sales tax is based on your place of residence, not the dealership location.

Florida sales tax is 6%. Fit Sport Automatic is $15,970 MSRP if I remember correctly. Add $550 destination charge, $395.99 dealer prep, 6% sales tax and $100 registration/doc fees (partially refundable if you switch tags from another vehicle): $18,030.89
