How fast is Fit?
How fast is the fit compared to a 1998-ish civic? I currently drive : http://www.internetautoguide.com/car...664/index.html
So this guy is 115hp, 2495lbs (for MT?).
Fit sport is 109hp with VTEC and weighs 2470 and gets about 9 seconds on 0-60. I actually don't know the time for my civic. Does anyone know the zero to 60 times of older civics? My bro currently got a MT 97 hatchback, and its slowerthan my preference, and if fit was that slow i'd be sad a little (but still buy one). thanks.

The 0-60 for the late 90's EX Civic MT was about 10.5 per this site: http://www.albeedigital.com/supercou...0-60times.html
I think the difference is due to the increased range of VTEC across the powerband instead of just turning on at a certain RPM. So you get more Oomph! (TM) earlier on that helps you get up to speed quicker. Your Civic EX was 125 or 127 peak HP, but doesn't switch on VTEC until something like 5400 RPMs. That said, 0-60 is not a great way to look at this car. Nor are 1/4 mile times. The beauty of this car's fun factor is handling, and not raw power. This car will feel like it handles better that a stock Civic of 10 years ago. The increased rigidity of the frame make s a huge difference, not to mention 10 years worth of new technology. This car is a bit faster, and should feel more fun to drive than your '96 EX. Hope that helps a bit...

From what I heard the Fit is very well balanced from many people that I have talked too. I head it feel like it has more punch than the 90's EG & EK just putting around in the lot and on the street in their stock forms. They say the Fit has a very usuable power band.
