Huge dent and scratch on fender.

Hi I was just in an accident, my fault. I would like to know how much you guys think it would cost to repair this. I do not want to report a claim to insurance, I would like to pay out of pocket.

heres a pic: ImageShack® - Gallery

just a rough estimate would be nice because I cannot take the car out as of now due to the tire also being flat. also would it be best to replace the whole part or repair it.

Thank you.

Just to replace and refinish the fender alone would be around $410

Fender - $160 Refinishing $200 - 250

If the bumper needs to be refinished figure in anther $250 - 350

If the door needs to be refinished another $250 - $300

I know this because we do small jobs like that and I've worked at a few body shops.

yah, you'll need a new fender and paint so it'll be about 450-500, i think as posted above.

then another 100 or so for the tire with mount/balance.

If at all possible, it is best to pay out of pocket. Some years ago, my wife did minor damage to her car (front spoiler panel). The damage was roughly $500, and we received that less the $250 deductible: i.e., we got $250 from our insurance. They raised our rates the next year, and if I remember correctly, we paid roughly an extra $350 per year for the next three years. Your damage, especially if restricted to that single fender panel, will not likely be over $1000. What might your deductible be?

P.S. As a fellow Orange Revolution owner, I find myself wondering how easy this unusual color is to match. Perhaps you can let us know, after repairs have been done, how it all came out.

that's werd cause usually insurance co's will write off up to $500 per accident without raising premiums. maybe things have changed.

but you would wanna blend the panels by it, so they match better

If the accident is your fault, the insurance company might assume that you're a higher risk and raise premiums, regardless of the final cost of repairs.
