That was my only criticism besides some road noise (quiet engine, shuts out traffic noise, but the drone from the road is the only problem Consumer Reports has in general with Hondas). Even my old Accord didn't height adjust, though my daughter's even older Camry does. I added a cushion and that solved the problem for me, and I plan to do the same in my Fit. Too bad Honda doesn't put that adjustment in -- even some of the cheap Fit competitors have a knob to raise the seat.

I have been driving an european fit "jazz" here in France, the road moise is a serious problem at any speed... definitely not made for bad condition roads. I'm surprised because I have a knob for the driver seat height adjustment which seems to be missing on the american model.

searched and found this thread. the fits been around a while now, i'm sure there must be some way to raise the seat, does anyone know what it is? even if it's a permanent raise (can't be changed on the spot)

i really need to have my seat raised.

If you loosen the to bolt that hold the seat mounting to the floor in the rear end, and put something under here, and then maybe replace the bolts with some longer bolts?
Or maybe do this on both front and rear mounts.

Just thinking out loud...

Well would it be possible to use the foreign mounts for the seats for raising? Erh dunno if that sounds right... but if the non-USDM models of gizmo's to raise seats. Shouldnt we be able to just import the part and do the same? I dont think that the whole seat would need to be replaced.

If you raise the seat height with spacers be sure to get longer bolts OF THE EXACT SAME THREAD and SAME QUALITY or better - high strength or even aircraft quality - not just "something that kinda fits from the hardware store." Since the gas tank is right under the seat, don't get the bolts too long, and the spacers should be made of properly strong materials. You might have to go to a special fasteners supplier to get the right things. Raise the seat equally - don't just do it on front or back.
Engineers spent a lot of time designing the seat safety features (we hope) so don't mess it up...

In my Jazz the gizmo that raise the seat is built into the seat and not in the mounts.
So maybe you could buy a new seat from a Jazz and put it in your USDN Fit? Sounds expensive ...

I am sure some one could doe this responsibly.... Ask the dealer first... It would be like a special order.... There should be a ton of legitament shops that fabricate that can engineer such a thing. You most likely would void and assume liability... for any change of outcome in the event of a rapid deceliration, yes car wreck.
To be honest I would do it if needed. You may first try a pillow or something to raise the hight... Make sure the head rest is appropietly in the correct location so you dont get a neck injury.
