Engine : some high-revving 1.6l motor. Derived from K-Series?
Power : 170hp and 130tq, while still returning low 30's HWY MPG.
Transmission : 6 speed from RSX-S with LSD.
Suspension : Lower, stiffer, thicker swaybars.
Brakes : Bigger Vented Discs up front, disc rear.
Wheels : Lightweight, forged 15x7 wheels with 205/50/15 sticky rubber.
Interior : Alcantara seats with more bolstering.
Exterior : More agressive bumpers (slightly).
Lighting : HID.
Price : $18k.
Positive : Cheap, Quick, Good Fuel Economy
Negative : The only downside I can think of is it "might" hurt Civic SI sales because this car would just do everything better.

I do like your ideas and yes that is the way conservative Honda looks a things: will it affect sales of the Civic Si? As it is here in Atlanta the Civic Si goes for way over 20k and the Base Fit is listed at 16k. And the Civic Si has an added Dealer price as well. What I have seen: you NEVER go by the price you see on the Honda website! Remember the S2000: 10k over the sticker price and I think it still is at least here...
I would think that the strip of glass that Toyota puts on some of their high end cars would look cool but add weight.

FYI for accurate car prices based on your local market, go to www.carsdirect.com. In your neck of the woods (Marietta, GA), a 2006 S2000 can be purchased for $31,203 including destination. Thats $3397 under MSRP. So while the window sticker may have the dealer markup, only a sucker would agree to the posted price.
The real price depends on the market. The 06 Civic Si does happen to sell above MSRP in many locations. It happens to be around $2100 above MSRP per carsdirect in your area.

Here's a vid of a Supra vs. NSX, both are turbo.
YouTube - very fast nsx
Actually ment 16K not 163K... but in our area the S2000 was actually walking out the door for years for whopping 12000 OVER MSRP! Obviously I did not buy. In this area the Fit and Civic SI are going for 1 to 3000 $$$ over MSRP. And they sell. But in our area a lot of people on the road, by the looks of the new high priced cars, have a lot of disposable income!
The way I look at it is they may fall in to a few catagories:
1. Orthopoedic docs
2. Orthodontists
3. CEO
4. Single people with very high priced jobs: I know of some body in our car club who has recently bought a brand new M3 4dr sedan with the 450hp engine
5. Bankers
6. Prostitutes - high priced ones
7. Drug dealers
The rest of us buy ordinary cars... ;

A thing about your "larger" sway bars on the si model... no need for larger ones really. Let Honda put adjustable ones on there. If it's an Si, then im sure its feasble.
Also, 18k for a Fit Si? HA! around here the Fit Sport cost high 18's!
I could see bumping the Fit Si, if improved enough, to the 22k range (at least around here). Lets see what Honda does though...
BTW, any vendors reading this... come up with adjustable sway bars! They are awesome.

-dohc 1.5 about 135hp, or the r18 from the civic 140hp
-civic si front seats ( the ones in the fit are good, but lack of lateral suport)
-rear discs "standard"- (maybe for the look cause the actuals are enough)
-flat bottom steering whel (confort and looks)
-factory strut tower bar, and more agresive suspension set up
-PLEASE an lsd
-factory ultra lightweight rims (maybe not to keep the price down)
Thats preety much what I think it should have a Fit Si
