Less than a thousand spread? I would have thought it would be a bit more than that.

I wonder what the holdback is on them.

I suppose that isn't a bad price, but I was hoping for more like $14k.

No bad feelings between you and your EX? Are you sure that was the price? How much kick back do they get from invoice price from Honda? I was told that the cars are marked up for dealer profit but even if the dealer sells it at invoice they get a percentage back from Honda.

Any word on the manual? Think it's this invoice price minus the spread between auto/manual?

Actually, it is what they pay. Invoice + destination. They get a holdback after they sell a vehicle (3% of base MSRP) and sometimes certain cars have incentives that the manufacturer pays them. The fit though has no incentive at the moment though. So, summary here is, the dealer did indeed pay invoice + destination for the car.

Sounds about right, Canadian Fits have a similar spread after taking into account the exchange rate

Honda traditionally has 9% markup in their vehicles, and this confirms it.

Fit Sport AT $15,970 * 91% = 14,532 cost

Add destination of $550

Fit Sport AT $16,520 MSRP, $15,082 invoice

In other words, there is $1,438 markup in the vehicle.

In addition the dealer will get the 3% holdback, which is an additional $479.10 Of course they don't get this until after the sale.

Whoever said $600 was off...

Don't forget to add in the $550.00 destinationa and handling charge to this price. That is always figured seperatly.

The destination is not really a markup. Granted it might not actually cost the manufacturer $550 to deliver the vehicle, but i'm pretty sure it isnt free either. Truck drivers are paid, and gas isnt free. The dealership pays 100% of the destination charge to the manufacturer so this cost is not recovered by the dealer.
