Chicagoland NW? Schaumburg Honda = NO!

Swung buy one of the larger Honda dealers in the NW 'burbs of Chicago today. They had two cars that I was interested in seeing. I almost died of sticker-shock. They tacked a whole bunch of extras on to the Fit and the Civic Si.

Red Fit auto was... $16,600(window sticker). Is now $19,600 (with extras).
Goldish Civic Si was $21,600(window sticker). Is now $26,500(with extras).

What a joke. They won't be getting my business... ever.

just came back from community honda in orland Park, IL I am on a company trip here from New York City and couldn't think of the better time to spend the evening...

I actually saw the Fit for the first time in person. They had 4 that came in today and all were sports; two auto (Black & Silver) and two manual (red & silver). I drove one of the manual ones and was pleasantly surprised at the power and handling ability for such a small 'enonomy' car.

Salesman said they're doing all MSRP. I asked if they would do the 16" wheel with crediting the 15" wheels on the car and he said no but would give me a discount on the 16"s.

He said they were expecting to sell them out before end of this Saturday and wanted me to leave a $500 deposit. Needless to say, I said thank you and walked out. I will have to pay another visit to the dealers around my state when I get back to drive the automatic (and the civic sedan I am comparative shoppping with).
