Hi All--Newbie here, and new Fit owner.

I've been lurking the past few days, and just wanted to say thanks to everyone here. You really helped with all the great info and discussions. The choice to buy a Fit was easy!

I decided that the Fit Sport Automatic was the version I wanted, and figured my wife would like it too. We already have a 2002 V-6 EX Accord which we love, and wanted a good, less expensive second car, but one with great build quality, versatility and a high fun-to-drive quotient.

So, we test drove a silver Fit Sport AT at a dealership in Nashua, NH on Friday. We both loved it. They were asking MSRP (including destination), but they have a standard $170 doc fee for Mass. residents. We did some quick ****ysis with MSRP + doc fee + floor mats + Mass sales tax (5%) and told the sales guy we needed to think about it. Plus, the color wasn't what I wanted.

So, we went out yesterday, and checked out a smaller dealership in Salem, NH. The salesman was a straight shooter--no fooling around. Within about 15 minutes, we had a deal.

Got my Nighthawk Black Fit Sport Auto for $16k even. Didn't get the floor mats, and their doc fee was only $95. We feel we could've done better if we waited a few months, but it's a gamble with the way gas prices are climbing. All in all, we're comfortable with the price, especially with no trade-in involved.

If all goes quickly with the credit union, registry and ins., we'll pick it up tomorrow night!

I've got the first one this dealership sold, and according to another big dealer in Lawrence, Mass, they don't expect any more until the end of May. Oh, and it matches our Accord.
