Hey there, I hate to reply to such an old thread but I recently bought some of these from an old CR-V (thinking Honda would make them universal) and they don't seem to fit my ge8 with 15" steelies, I was wondering how yours went on, like if the lip goes inside the circle in the center of the wheel or if they go on the outside, I feel like they're suppose to go on the inside.

Old thread, I know...My old '91 Civic Wagon center caps fit nicely in the base 15" steel rims I use in the winter. But, either somebody is swiping them, or they can pop out on a rough ride: I've lost two. I believe late '80's to early-mid '90's caps will also fit as well. I've read that others have the loss problem, and that a bead of silicone is a good cure. You have to clean the wheel and cap well, and I don't know how well it would set in cold weather.

The tabs are sized to fit inside the hole in the wheel's center, as a hard press fit, or use a rubber mallet. I'd leave them on the wheel permanently. If the wheel was off the car, it might help to apply more silicone from the inside where the tabs and cap meet the wheel.

Forgot to mention: my Fit is an '10 Sport, and I use base OEM steel wheels with my snow tires. They may not corner like the 16" alloy wheels and tires, but there's a slight improvement in the really harsh ride.

Where can one get chrome beauty rings to fit the stock base wheels on my 2009?

What would I look for, the wheel size or does it have to be a specific Fit type fit? (no pun intended)

Thanks,

I've bought 3 pairs, screwed up on the first 2, sent them back, and the last pair I bought was way too small, so I wrapped some electrical tape around them and they popped right in but I never trusted them so I just forgot about it and plasti-dipped my hubs white until I can get white rims.....I kept the last pair though since they had the vintage Honda H that you'd see on a first or second gen Civic....considered them a collectors item especially since they had virtually no rust. But the center cap thing for me, was just not worth it.

"kind of dope" .... like they make you high, or are stupid, or what?

If I get some time tonight I'll Photo Shop them onto my car and show you what they would look like... who knows, you may be right.

What does dope mean? dope Definition. Meaning of dope. OnlineSlangDictionary.com

Sometimes they sell chrome trim rings at autoparts stores too. I saw sets at O'Reilly's the other day if you have any by you. I see you're in CA.

Sorry, Wanderer... I'm not up on all the slang terms today

I'll see if I can do a PS cut and paste tonight to see how it looks and will post it here. Thanks,

Question How about these?

Sorry, did this in a rush, but maybe it will give an indication of the stock wheels with beauty rings?

I debated doing that for some time because I liked the beauty ring look on old xBs, but now that you posted that I don't like as much on the Fit, so thank you for posting the pshop.

Plan B I guess...

Thanks, Kostar. I have the chrome on steel rings ordered, should be here this or next week.
Will then have to remove the wheels, sand and prep them and give them a gloss black coat with a clear coat finish.
Still trying to trace down some reasonably priced center hole covers. On Ebay they are way over priced at about $30 - $40 for four caps and that's used! I'm also finding it really hard to figure out what size will fit.. they have to fit the 56.1 mm CB (center bore) hole (2-3/16") A lot of them are 2-3/4", some are 2-1/2" and most don't say what size they fit.
The list of CB by model years I found (click here) doesn't seem to agree with a lot of the listings on Ebay.

You're welcome.
I agree, I don't think they would look very good on your Cinnamon colored FIT either, but they work really well on the black FITs. Your mags work a lot better on your color, IMHO.

Got the center caps

Got the caps
Just got the wheel caps. I found these Mr. Gasket GM chrome dust caps on Ebay for $2.61 a two pack (click).

They did not fit my Fit so I cut slots using a dremel tool with a cutting disk and then slightly bent the tabs out and they now fit tightly on the wheel. (This is the same method the stock Honda cap uses).
Click this bar to view the full image.

Here's some pix on the wheels:
Close up with black lug nuts from Ebay (click) and 15" chrome steel beauty rings (click):

This turned into a fun project for not very much money and the car now has a distinctive look.
