I saw the commercial just a couple of minutes ago. I actually kind of like it. I especially like the bit about the mullet. I kind of got that nostalgic 80's feel to it. I'd like to see more. It would be nice if they had the commercials posted somewhere on the web...
I just saw one of Honda's 5 second spots for the Fit last night while watching Prison Break on Fox.
I guess Honda is trying to reach out to the 11 - 16yr. old demographic?????
It's sad that Honda seems incapable of providing information about the Fit in a mature and relevant manner. The official Fit website is almost insulting. The tiny little picture book Honda provided at the car show has no relevant information. The 5 second TV spots are in my opinion ineffective...again telling the consumer nothing about why exactly they should buy a Fit.
A car is a major purchase (even if it is only $15k) As such, Honda should take business a little more seriously. If they portray the Fit like it's a toy, people in the market for a good, economical car may over look the Fit as a possible option.
I find it hard to believe that someone's actually getting paid to support the Fit with this kind of advertising.

That was later followed by "Awwwww, that's so mean!", when during a later commercial, the Yaris cut the piggy bank into four pieces, then tapped its forehead with a small hammer as the piggy winced - then fell apart.

Saw Yaris commercial too. My fiance also said "Awww, that's mean," however she has the Yaris liftback. Another commercial of the Fit is that it had wings and was flying. Showed more Fit commercials after 24 on Fox.
saw the fit and yaris commercials. i liked the yaris spots. they spoke to the positive features (cost and efficiency) of the car creatively. The Fit commercial, on the other hand, was only about creating an "image" of the car. I didnt think it was horrible, at least up until the "Fit is Go" tagline.
Fit Commercial
The whole point of advertising is to get people talking about a product. Judging by this thread, Honda has accomplished exactly that with their Fit commercials. I think what we are seeing now are just "teasers". I think as the Fit becomes more available at the dealers we will see full length ads that give more us more information about the Fit.

Maybe these will be an improvement (we can hope). A couple of co-workers told me they saw a 15 sec commercial showing the Fit as an upside down cat flipping over and landing on its feet.
