I went to pick-up my Fit today and noticed a Base MT on the display floor with a dealer sticker next to the msrp. In addition to the regular b.s. ( undercoat, scotchguard...), was listed $1000 fee for "Limited Production".
Luckily I had made a deposit on mine a week ago and got it for msrp plus tax, title and doc fee.
Salesman said they sold all six initial Fits in one week. Hot seller = more profit. Buyer's beware!

 

Jeez. I would run far far away from that dealership and never look back. Suddenly, I'm feeling very lucky for walking in and getting a Fit at MSRP with no hoop jumping.

 

"Limited production fee"
"Market value adjustment"
"Dealer's asking price"
"Additional mark-up"

They're all B.S. Nobody should pay more than the MSRP set by Honda Motor Corp. Anyone paying these fees just to get one early is only making it harder for the next customer. If everyone walks away from the mark-ups they will have to start removing them in order to sell the cars.
