I can't wait to pick up mine . . . when??? I completed all the paperwork on Saturday, left one car that I traded-in besides the Clunker program. The clunker is still in my possession, because the Dealer still has not received "confirmation" on their registration into the program. And the Fit is still in their possession! I cannot believe how long it is taking to get my car. I'm having a fit without my Fit.

Did they finish it Monday? Mine said Monday. That came and went (we me bugging them), now Tuesday has come and gone (with me bugging them even more). I'm driving my clunker around with pink slip and temporary insurance card for the 2009 Fit, just waiting until I can move my packet from glove compartment to the new one.

Did you check on the Dealer Locator to see if your dealer has been added?:
CARS.gov - Car Allowance Rebate System - Dealer Locator - Formerly Referred to as “Cash for Clunkers”

I believe they update it every night.

I've been checking it, and it's not there, and the dealers knows it's not. In fact, they pointed out what is odd, is that there are NO Honda dealers listed for the state of PA, and I believe MD. Now, there probably is one in PA because the Bobby Rahal dealerships are listed, and one of their many brands they sell is Honda, of course. But, I search the page for "HONDA", and nothing shows up. Seems very strange.

I think they are using the business name, not the name of the dealership as we know it. Many don't list any kind of car, so people browsing that list have NO idea what it is the business SELLS.

They should have had it set up with that mystery business name (James Puddington Inc), with a DBA "Curious George's Honda of Rio", AND the ability to sort the list not just by city, but by KIND of car.

There are apparently NO dealers signed up yet in San Francisco, if I look at the State, then City listings, but there ARE some listed in just the State listings as being in San Francisco.

Here are some names from the California listing...

ALLEN USED CARS (since used cars can't be bought under the program, why are they in the listing? Or, what new cars do they sell?)

ASBURY FRESNO IMPORTS (well, we know they aren't American cars, and that's all)

Augarten Ltd. (no clue on that having ANYTHING to do with cars at all with that one)

BOB BAKER AUTOMOTIVE (could sell cars, could sell just car parts, not a helpful name)

COLORADO DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (looks like they create tract homes)

Way too many names that I wouldn't bother calling or looking into, because the name says NOTHING:
DCH (OXNARD) INC
DHE & ASSOCIATES
ENVIRONMENTAL TRANSPORTATION SPECIALISTS
FAA TORRANCE CPJ
FRN of San Diego LLC

This one, with it's address, looks TOTALLY out of place:
Planet Resorts International
24075
Magic Mountain Pkwy
Valencia
CA
91355

I wouldn't ask for a car, I'd ask for a room/vacation package to Magic Mountain.

This one tells you what they sell, but I guess you have to make an appointment to meet "some guy" by mail, as they list a P.O.Box for their address:
Elm Ford Mercury Inc.
PO Box 2175
Woodland
CA
95695

I know that people want to cut back on overhead, but meeting "some guy" in a parking lot to buy a new car is pushing it.

I agree completely. My dealer was registered and had all the info they needed on Monday, yet they still aren't listed by their common name on the gov site. I don't think that gov't list is all that usable by the average consumer. Just check with your dealer and see if they are registered.

If they have a phone number, one can always run the business phone number listed on the CARS site through the number look-up, that's when we find out Bob Baker sells Chrysler:
Bob Baker Chrysler

5555 Car Country Dr
Carlsbad, CA 92008
(760) 431-3000

Yellow Pages | Phone Number Lookup & Address Directory

And we find out Auto West is for Acura.

Or, have the phone book handy, and play "match addresses"!

Or, scamper over to Google maps, enter the address (as long as it isn't a P.O.Box), and they'll tell you what is there (if it's a business), so that DCH is a HONDA dealership...and not only can we see it from above on a map, we can go to street level and walk around a bit.
Here's the address, so you can try it:
1500 East Ventura Boulevard Oxnard CA

And it's google.com and click on maps, then enter that address.

It's a great way to check out Real Estate. Overhead and on the street (when it's available).

My dealer says they got confirmation, the Comptroller is logged on, and wading through the rules and regs, to make sure what they have to do for all to work correctly. I should be able to pick up the car later today or tomorrow at the latest. I'm not uncrossing my fingers until I have to wrap them around my new steering wheel and gear shift.

Got my black Fit Sport yesterday and I'm in love!!! Cash for Clunkers deal went by smoothly without a problem and I dont regret a thing! I figured it would take awhile getting adjusted to the Fit coming from an SUV but after a day the Fit well, "fit." Pardon the corny joke lol.

One hour and counting until I complete my deal on my Blackberry Pearl Sport AT. Going from a Jeep Cherokee to the Fit will not be a problem, I don't think. The Fit actually has almost as much interior room, and a better configuration. In the Jeep, I had no split rear seat, and to make it flat you had to pull up the seat before you pull down the back, and it was a pain.

Thanks! We got rid of a Dodge Neon as part of this deal. I was never crazy about it. We also have Ford Focus, which is more fun and roomier than the Neon, but not as Fun and Feature Packed as the Fit. My wife will be taking that car.

Okay, I'm now the proud new owner of a 2009 Fit Sport AT -- Blackberry Pearl. The ride home was great. I had to re-sign a lot of paperwork because the CARS site showed they had written it up wrong the first time, but the numbers all remained the same on the bottom line. I forgave them for the delay, and I'm looking forward to them being my dealer for all things Honda, now that I'm in the Honda family.

So I finally picked up my Fit today. So far I'm loving it. The Navigation/radio is a bit confusing tryin to program an address is madness but i'm sure it will get easier the more i get used to it.
So the final breakdown for me in price is:

2009 Fit Sport auto/nav $18847
body side moldings/armrest $487
floormats $75
moonroof $1000
- $4500 Cars voucher
- $50 scrap value
tax $ 951.54
registration fees $172.95
-$2000 down payment

Financed $14984 at 4.09% x60months.
I'm pretty happy about it.
Yay i'm finally driving my Fit!!!
