Are you only talking about pushing through a gromet or seal? If you have anything more than a single 10 gauge wire, I doubt you'll find room. You're going to have to drill. I personally haven't done it (yet) but will soon, and I'll make sure to take pictures.

There is a large cable bundle that goes through the firewall behind and below the battery, but it was so hard to get at -- from above or underneath the car -- that I could not even get a 'fish' wire through it. I wound up routing my auxiliary light wires through the shift lever boot, which is a long, long way to run wires; I had a pre-built cable harness and had to extend it.

i drilled a whole near where the drivers seat rail bolts to the floorboard and ran the wires through that up into the wheel well and to the battery. It was convenient because the switches were installed on the center consoll...it works and is hidden cant ask for anything more

sounds dangerous, drilling right around the gas tank.

I got an 8 gauge power line through a grommet on the passenger side, I don't remember anything tricky about it. It was so straightforward I didn't really think about it - and 4 gauge should be pretty easy in the same spot. I'll snap a picture next time I've got the hood open.

Hey Jason,
Do all those lights dim when your A/C compressor cycles on and off?

not noticably at all, the biggest pull is from the neons and the converter boxes act as a damper for things like that so no flicker there...and all my other lights are LED strictly so the pull is much less than bulbs...i have noticed a slight flicker on the HID headlamps though but only at a stop when the ac clicks on, never while moving. and even then i only noticed it once, when trying to re create it i couldnt see it. I do however have a problem with my tail lamp assebly, whenever i press the break the parking light emblem comes on on the dash and the dashboard lights up, as though i had turned them on...i have emailed the manufacturer, the next step is to tear it all back apart...

bump!

I have GE that I hope to be running 4 gauge power in this weekend. I've read that people are getting their wire through one of the gromets (driver's or passenger's side), but I don't know how they access them. Some are also drilling, so they must have disassemled something to get at that area.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

GD or GE?

Which generation fit are we talking about? I got a 4 gauge wire through the driver's side grommet QUITE easily on my GD3. It took five minutes!

do you happen to have pics? id rather run it through the driver but it would be better than drilling
