12 1/2 foot Boat fits in my Fit!
So I just picked up my Storm Silver Sport M/T today and the key thing for me was whether I could fit my 12 1/2 foot sliding seat rowing dory in the Fit (it slid into the back of my Element just fine).
My dealer was just fantastic -- let me try loading the boat on Saturday, it fit (within like an 1/8 of an inch widthwise and with 6 feet sticking out the back, but far enough in so it got past the balance point) ...and I decided right then to buy the car.
Check out the boat at:

60 miles today (in the Fit not the boat) -- A BLAST.

Good to know! I've been wanting to get a kayak for ages. I'm hoping I can get one to fit entirely into the Fit, but if I have to leave the hatch open a bit, that's cool, too. How'd you go about keeping the hatch down?
