Dude??? He was complaining about people *not understanding* him and "spamming up" his thread and making it suck. So now it sucks even more???? Gah... way to take the fun out of it.

Explaining a troll or insult does remove the fun. In the future, please be sure to use the quote function, as this site does not show whose post is in response to whoms. Whose? Whoses? Hosers?

It's real possible to get off on the wrong foot. I know, I did it. If a person comes from an insulting place, everything is taken as an insult. If a person comes from a very strict, on-topic forum where everyone understands each other, then this place might seem abstract.

Forums, like individuals, grow and change over time. Positive and negative feedback, moderators that are policing the grammar v. moderators who can't spell grammar. Strict rules v. flexible rules.

THIS place is one of the BETTER forums I've run across. The percentage of HELPFUL people far exceeds most other places. It is "subject oriented" so that most topics have to do with the Fit or with autos in general.

What I like is that if I screw up, I KNOW I've screwed up. LOL! And I appreciate it. Those "unwritten rules" become very clear.

If the OP reads this, there is a feedback loop, and that has to do with reputation. And on THIS site, it's well under control. Get in a hissy fit, start neg repping people, and find your own rep wayyyyyy down in the hole.

I don't do negative rep any more. I do positive rep. I don't have a set group of requirements to do positive rep. It might be an article new to me. It might be helping others. It might be anything. Something that ADDS to the community feeling I have come to enjoy here.

OP, really, people wanted to help you get your Fit ASAP. We (some of us anyway) didn't want to wait for ours and we didn't like waiting if we did have to wait. We just wanted you to have the car you wanted TODAY.

And to the members, it has become obvious that the OP was looking for "Yeah, I'm waiting too and it sucks that the nearest dealer didn't have MY car" comments.

It's like that on other forums too. Especially with interior design. If a person asks "what do you think about my place?" and a bunch of people pipe up with "move this, buy that, get rid of something else" and the OP is offended...what the OP was looking for was a "Looks nice".

But the OP wasn't fully clear for everyone to understand. Just like here.

So I hope everyone will give everyone else another chance. OP should certainly be welcome to post about their new Fit, no matter what year it is or when they buy it. This forum is TOO GOOD to ignore or pass by, with all the expertise contained.

Yeah, so the biggest downfall of this site could be "too many helpful people"...

Like THAT should be considered a problem...

Yes, I've gotten myself into trouble before because I didn't quote the post I was responding to. However, when I am responding to the OP I usually don't feel it's necessary.

There I was, in your profile, with a fresh can of chatterbox paint, and there was NO COMMENT WALL.

I would have said something. Something magnificent. Something...uh...helpful. Um...are you baked in that photo?

I don't think I'd want to own the house that is the center of Dickville as seen from overhead.

You said "Your thread" that indicates it was to the original poster. That was a great reply too.

Mr Dickville,

It's best to lay low for a bit when you're new to a forum. Read a bit and get to know people. Taffeta White always tries to help people find cars when they're looking. She is very well liked here.

This is the best forum for Fits. You should try to smooth this crap out. It's really just a dumb mis-communication. Good luck with the new Fit.

I messed up when I got here, and have messed up since, but I keep trying. I have no problems with the OP, myself. I thought OP was funny putting in the "Dickville". Shows the OP has some humor happening there and will probably FIT right in! I didn't want to make fun of "Dickville" though because it could be real place. And is, in Pennsylvania. People probably don't believe it when other people say they live in "Dickville". How'd you like to go to "Dickville High"?

I have been on very strict threads/in groups, where a person didn't dare go even slightly off-topic, lest the wrath of the moderator or poster become unleashed.

I've been on insulting sites/forums/groups, with absent or equally insulting moderators.

Here the moderators ARE around, but they aren't heavy handed.

By the way, Chad, did you get new wheels?

And I found this site back when we were chatting about the GLHS:
Welcome to ShelbyGLHS.Com

There are some notes in there from the former owner of your car and what they had done to it.

^ LOL ^

I think a quote from our President is appropriate for this thread: "He's a jackass."

Judging from place names, there seem to be lots of people in Pennsylvania with sly senses of humor. These are all real: Paradise, Bird in Hand, Pleasant Gap, Happy Valley, Blue Ball, Intercourse, and Virginville.

Personally known to me: Booger Hollow Road in north Georgia. Also the following sign, photo taken in the Yukon Territory near the north end of Kluane Lake on July 18, 2006: Burwash Landing
